All but one of these stories were really good. I took the book on my ski vacation and finished it sooner than expected, the stories are that easy to read and enjoy. The plots are so good that I found myself asking: where is the beast in this one? The stories explore many different places, from New York City to the Basque region of Spain. Likewise, the characters occupy various niches in society and the economic system. I had to laugh that the weekend after I came home, the NY Times published an article about coyotes in NY City, proving again that truth is stranger than fiction and that good fiction is wholly believable and realistic.
