It is what it says it is........a sun shade awning! Definitely worth the money and then some!
I love the shade it provides and the width and length of the awning. I have (4) 4 ft X 4 ft tinted windows in my family room....2 on back deck. I wanted an awning that would extend to my deck rails. My intention was to put up 2 awnings (1 over each window) on back deck. I bought 1 to see how if would work for what I wanted. Have had it installed for a few weeks now and I am in the process of purchasing my second. Installation went smoothly because I read previous reviews. 2 things I read that were important. #1... If you are not installing on brick or concrete......go get wood bolts (comes with bolts for brick/concrete). #2....Don't leave unattended...lol. Be sure to roll up before you leave the house. If a storm rolls in, it will catch the air! I don't fully extend mine because I don't need to but also seems to be sturdier. I have not experienced any problems concerning #1 or #2 but I make sure to heed the warnings. I love this awning and can't wait to put the second one up.

Excellent product that could use better installation instructions
If you intend to install over a patio door on vinyl siding.. this might help you.If space is tight above the patio door (as in my case - see attached picture), then make sure you have at least 4" above the top bracket hole center to make room for the rolled up unit. Use a spacer behind the bracket if you need to so that the Torsion Bar clears the siding ends. In most homes, I believe there is normally a header above the patio door that you can drill into which is what I did. Confirm that you have about 3 inches of wood behind the siding - then you should be good. I used 5/16" x 4"L stainless steel lag bolts to secure the brackets to the siding wall after pre-drilling with a 7/32" drill. While mounting the awning to the brackets, you may or may not have to untie the roll and extend a little to gain access to the top side of the bracket to secure the nut. Lack of clear instructions led me to cause some minor damage. But their customer service is excellent and they addressed it promptly - which is why I am giving them 5 stars instead of 4.It is an excellent product if not for the poor instructions. As others have noted here, it may not withstand high winds and therefore I keep it only half extended to get relief from heat. I intend to keep it like that all thru' the warm weather and then fully retract it during winter. The awning can be extended more than 6 ft if needed. Not designed for heavy rain but with some help from your end, it could really keep your barbecure grill dry. During heavy rain, water collects in the middle of the shade and doesn't run off easily and begins dripping thru' the fabric which is not good. It has happened to me in the past when a steady downpour with winds gusting at 10 mph wouldn't let up while I was smoking ribs out on the deck when I had moved the grill under the awning that was extended out all the way.Review updated (in Sept 2021) with a fix for water not running off - that you see in the second picture.Jose

Easy install, performs as advertised.. so far.
Installed by myself in under an hour. Used 3/8 x 3" lags (which you will have to provide). It comes assembled, all you need to do is mount the two brackets into something solid, lift it into place and install two bolts to keep it in place. If you can use a hand drill and turn a wrench, there's no reason to hire anyone. I'm a little skeptical of the engineering that went into this but, we'll see. So far, so good. Looks nice and keeps the noonday sun from blasting through my slider. I recommend reading the tips and looking at pictures provided by other reviewers before buying. I didn't even read the instructions.Edit:I had it about 1/3rd extended in the rain and noticed water pooling at the edge. Not good, water is heavy. When the rain stops, I'll adjust the angle down a bit and give it a little tilt to one side. Next step might be a few carefully placed pinholes to act as drains but, I'd rather not have to do that.

Yes, yes, and more yes.
I don't know what to tell you. I was going to put up a cheap $30 sunshade and stumbled upon this. Thought what the hell. Oh my God. Cheap, easy to install. Did by myself. And sturdy as can be. I would have liked to have different color options and I added some warning tape to prevent from our renters overextending it. Although, I have overextended it and it does not have any real adverse effects. Just being cautious I guess. My grandmother has a very expensive SunSetter and while those are definitely Superior for the price point, I don't know how you wouldn't consider this. Just buy it and you will see what I mean.

Will not hold under a windy conddition
It is a nice awning, but if it's windy or it rains it will not hold. I wish they would make a better product or at least make a support bracket so it can hold under a raining condition.

Great item - installs in MINUTES
Very good for the price. It was delayed a day during shipping which ticked me off. Took 4 business days. Install was a breeze. Took maybe 15 minutes to install and 5 minutes to adjust. Note: the install instructions say to install the bracket to concrete with the supplied anchor bolts but I installed with four 1/2"X3" lag bolts to my studs as my house has vinyl siding and no concrete. Ymmv but it seems pretty solid when installed to my studs. Really hoping to see increased shade as my doorwall faces the west and gets baked in sun in the summer.

Good value for money.
It works great, looks great, is reasonably priced and just replaced it. The old one withstood the hot AZ direct sun year and monsoons for 3 years before replacing it. That’s a win.
