VERY Good Choice
We've had this unit for about six months now: Pros: - Cooks fast. While anecdotal, I'm sure that this MW heats things faster than our last (yes full-size) MW and has minimal food-edge overheating while doing so. - An astoundingly capable "sensor reheat" function. It somehow manages to reheat most items just right. Yes, there are challenges reheating a monster burrito sitting next to "seven" black beans that want to explode, but what can you expect? I'd buy the machine for the reheat feature alone. Frankly, this is how we use it most - don't you? - The defroster is much less prone to cooking the edges of the meat being defrosted than our last MW. Admittedly, when I defrost most things I put them in a pot full of warm water, or put them on the counter or outside. Regardless, the defroster works well when called upon. - No overburdened menu. You hit popcorn, you hit reheat, you hit defrost, you hit a time to cook, power level, or keep warm. Nice, easy. - Quick 30-second increments. Standard these days, but a plus none-the-less. - Works with near zero clearance on the sides. I was concerned, but this unit has its vents where they should be so as not to require much side clearance. - A Keep Warm function. While I don't recall having used this, the inverter technology that varies the power (heating level) rather than varying the time it runs at full power (five seconds on high, three seconds off, for example), I suspect will do much better than conventional MWs at warming without cooking the edges of your dish. Cons: - Doesn't clean itself. Reheating that burrito with those "seven" black beans. Yea, my problem. - Its gone up about $20 since we bought it - a little more than ten percent. Hmmm. - Beeping. I wish I could manage the keypad and end-of-cycle beeps. You get one beep for each key-press, and three when the cycle is complete. Beeping cycles and levels is a configuration option I would encourage adding to the menu. But, all MWs seem to beep too much. Oh well. So, enjoy. I think you will be delighted with this MW if it fits in your space and budget.

Over 1.2kW and the fancy features actually work!
First thing I noticed is the door feels sturdy and seems like it forms a airtight seal. But I figured it’s just a microwave so that’s probably not that important. How does it cook? Well it’s just over 1,200 watts so TV dinners and everything else cooks faster... which is probably why you’re looking at this product in the first place. You want a high output microwave and this definitely fills that requirement. I’ve always had microwaves that had a Popcorn button, Auto Defrost, and a few other features I never used (apart from the Popcorn button). I figured I’d give the “sensor reheat” on this microwave a try and see how it went. I’ve never used auto defrost on other microwaves because despite being automatic, I’d have to enter the weight of the food and how often do we know how many ounces of whatever we are trying to heat? The “sensor” functions of this microwave do away with weights and are simple one push buttons. Heating up leftover meat? Throw it in, hit Sensor Reheat, and press Start. This also works great for Soup, which microwaves have a habit of making some parts boil while leaving others cold... but I think this microwave alternates between power levels to prevent that. Perfect even-heated soup. I even use it to heat up canned stuff like ravaoli. I stopped reading directions altogether because sensor reheat takes anything that is fridge or room temp, and heats it right up, evenly every time. Awesome microwave. The extra “features” are definitely not gimmicks and were very well engineered to actually work.

Good choice.
Working great two years later. Very happy with purchase. Quiet, and easy to use. It did cause some interference with headphones used for video-conferencing.

A Decent Small Microwave
It is compact and quiet. We have a fairly narrow shelf built for a micro-wave, and this was one of the few that was the right depth. It replaced a ten year old unit that was larger, but we could not find something of equivalent dimensions now (i.e. bigger width and height, but same depth). As it is lower wattage, it takes a little longer to cook than our older unit. However, it cooks things evenly and operates very quietly. The dial system for setting the time takes a little getting used to, but is fairly intuitive. And as we mainly use the microwave to reheat, and not to cook - the smaller size has not proven to be a problem as it will handle a full size dinner plate easily. For its size and cost, it works fine. I don't think it would be the microwave you would want, however, if you were someone who actually cooked larger food items, rather than the lighter duty jobs like reheating or making popcorn. A good choice also for people with smaller kitchen or counter space.

As others have said, this is a great microwave until it no longer works
This is a great microwave. I loved using it and met all our needs. I love the inverter technology and the sensor cook and sensor reheat (most of the time). However, 2 and a half years since I purchased it, it all of a sudden stopped working. The buttons didn't work at all. No appliance repair company would fix it stating the couldn't find the parts and I couldn't find the parts myself - probably the control board. So i had purchased it for $180 at the time, So to replace it I ordered another one through Amazon. That one arrived quickly but there as chip in the upper left corner of the door as well as a scrape leading to it. The box it was in had no sign of any damage. So it seems that Panasonic packed a damaged item in a new box. So I asked for a replacement of this item I am planning on returning. I received it within a couple of days and the same damage with the corner of the door chipped and a scrape leading up to it was on the replacement! The box was not damaged near that part of the microwave. However, the other side of the box was damaged and there was a dent in the wall of the microwave due to that. Needless to say will be returning this one but Amazon will not replace an item a second time so I paid for another microwave and will return both of these. I really do like this microwave for our family of 5 and discussed this with customer service. I will return both of those and am crossing my fingers that the third is a charm and does not come damaged. What would be the chances, right? It is scheduled to arrive in two days. We will see and will be crossing my fingers in the meantime. It is just disconcerting that Panasonic is packaging damaged microwaves in new boxes and selling them as new. Just a warning.

Trust and reliability
I have a deep appreciation for the beauty of my microwave; it truly enhances the look of my kitchen. I purchased my first microwave in 2021, but it stopped functioning in 2023. I was so satisfied with it that I decided to buy the same model again. Now, two years later, my second microwave has also stopped working. While I don't want to complain, it's peculiar that both appliances failed after roughly the same period. I would like to know what I can do about this issue. It shouldn't just be a matter of warranty; this situation raises concerns about the efficiency, quality, and reliability of the product and the brand I trusted. Although getting another microwave isn't a significant concern for me, I'm unsure how to proceed after this unfortunate experience. Additionally, I haven't been able to contact the manufacturer or troubleshoot the issue, which makes the situation even more disappointing.

A Trusted, Well-utilized Powerhouse Appliance for my Kitchen
Very powerful and well-sized unit. I use this primarily to reheat leftovers though works very well for cooking, melting and defrosting. The LED light is very bright (a good thing) and you can see the item that you're nuking. I am not convinced that the reheat sensor works and don't like to risk overheating my food so I shut it down before the unit shuts off. Nice feature if it works, though not enough for me to take a full star away from this review. I like the finish which matches my other ss appliances though be aware the box is painted bright grey, it is not SS as is the front. Popcorn setting pops almost every kernel with no burning. Reheating liquid or leftovers takes very little time. Unit is not too loud. The door opener (button) sometimes gets stuck when pressed in, though pops out when you close the door. Don't know if this is a defect or just needs some lube, though I can't immediately see where I can lube the button. Excellent value for such power.

I really don't like this microwave
What is thickness? I don't even know so it is hard to rate it. There is nothing wrong with this oven's appearance or control panel. I thought I was upgrading a Panasonic I bought several years ago - this one has the same features and was not inexpensive so I thought it was an upgrade. Perhaps it is Panasonic I no longer like. If you've been to their website, it is not very helpful if you are trying to figure out what new model to buy or how to upgrade an older model that you like. This oven does not show the power level it is cooking at. I can set it to 3, but once I hit start there is no indicator that confirms that it is on level 3. The turbo defrost is WAY TOO HOT (so far I've ruined 3 pieces of chicken and 2 pork chops), but I have no way to confirm it is truly operating at level 3 - all I know is that it says in the manual that defrost is level 3. There is no way to customize the keypad. My prior model could make several manual changes to the keypad sounds and options which I found very helpful. This one has no adjustments available whatsoever. I should have worked harder to learn what model would have been an upgrade. I assume had I called Panasonic I could have asked, provided I had been able to reach an agent. But if you go to their uninformative website they don't give their phone number. This is not Amazon's fault so I don't plan to return the oven but it is certainlu a dissappointment. If you set time and the cook level manually it works fine, but it's sensor and automation is useless. The microwave I bought 20 years ago could do that.
