Works out of the box
So far I love this pen. I am not convinced the yellow bulb is all that useful for checking pupil response though. I get a better and more accurate assessment with the brighter bulb. The USB port is covered by a magnetized cap. Do be careful not to let it get pulled off though honestly it holds pretty well and I have not lost it. I also have not needed to charge it yet and I've been using this pen for a couple of months now. I work in a stroke center and do use this multiple times a day to assess neuro signs, but not knowing how will the battery will charge is the ONLY reason I give it four stars. Once I've charged it, I'll upgrade the rating if charging goes smoothly.

Shockingly terrible.
If I could give no stars.. okay, 1 for shipping because Prime is awesome. But... just look at these photos! The white light is so bright, you could use it if you were lost out in the woods at night. It's ridiculously bright. And the "warm" light is actually YELLOW. I tried to access my colleagues eyes and their sclera (white part of the eye) was COMPLETELY yellow from the light. It's horrible. Pics for reference, white light in my wall and yellow light on my skin.

Lightweight!
Because this product can be recharged, therefore doesn’t need batteries to weigh it down, making it super lightweight! I love that it doesn’t even feel like I am carrying a penlight in my pocket. Additionally, the penlight looks classy and of higher quality than most battery operated penlights out there. It also comes in a two pack, so you can charge one while using the other one in the clinic, and switch them off at anytime. The only concern I had was that it might get stolen! I may have to purchase another pack of different color just to compensate for the possibility of losing it. Lol.

Love this little light!
I love this little light!!!As an EMT, we need light to help take care of our patients.I can’t tell you how many houses I’ve walked into that are dimly lit, the bright white light is amazing in this situation. It lights up the room if you give it a chance and the low, yellow light is super helpful to check pupil reactivity. (Which I have also used rather frequently as, sadly, we get a lot of calls for overdoses.)The magnetic end is stronger than I originally anticipated and the USB charging end is hands down the best because I can pretty much plug it in anywhere.I recommend this little guy to everyone.

Super Bright…
This pen light is ridiculously bright lol. Like… if I got lost in the woods I could use this as a flashlight. It gives you easily 30 feet of visibility. As for the yellow light, it works really well on the eyes and I’m able to asses pupil reactivity. I would never use the white light on a patient. It is way too bright. But like I said, the yellow light is good. You just have to keep in mind that it’s yellow (when you’re doing assessments).

Love it.
Super lightweight, The brightness of the white light (second photo)is adequate and works well the yellow light (3rd photo) does not hurt the eyes and makes it simple to check pupil response. I love the fact that it's rechargeable. the cap to the charging port is magnetic and only comes off if I want it to, I don't have to worry about it falling off on its own. I have not had to recharge it yet. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

Competent close up lighting
This small light is handy for close-up work, but the beam diffuses at any distance. It's very light weight and I will dispose of it when it dies. (If that happens soon, I'll update my review.)Recharging this light is simple: remove the magnetic cap from the bottom, and plug the light directly into a USB port. But for heavy duty work, I just ordered a Mini Maglite LED 2AAA light today.

marvelous little lights
I have only one complaint -- the on/off switch is on the side, and it is too easy, yes easy, to slide from bright to dim rather than being "stepped" to click into the "off" position. This is a very light penlight, but is extremely bright and powerful.
