The Lady's Forbidden Love (The Langley Sisters Book 7)

Loved it
This was a great read, the book captured my interest immediately and kept my interest throughout the whole book. I loved Daniel and Abby straight away. Initially Daniel is very attracted to Abby as he believes she’s a governess but when the truth comes out that’s when his own prejudices come up. He feels he can’t pursue her because she’s from the nobility, he hates being lied to-she lied to him, and Daniel has issues in his past that he keeps suppressing. Abby has many over protective brothers who are making her life a misery. Mix all this with attempted abduction and attempted murder and you’ve got a great book. I really hope Abby’s brothers get their own books- please Wendy make it happen. All in all a brilliant book and I’m looking forward to the next instalment.I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Hmmmm
I have devoured each instalment of this series and loved each until this one. This book started strong, I had high hopes it would be as fantastic as the previous ones but I fear it fell flat. This instalment felt extremely drawn out. The characters were well thought out and the incident with the boat described perfectly, but their “courting” felt as arduous. This storyline had so much promise but it pains me to say it fell flat. I hate giving three star reviews but I do so when I feel it warrants it, and I’m afraid this does. There were quite a few formatting issues in the text and the occasional issue with edit, which I can usually overlook. These have appeared in most of the regency collections but as the stories were great I could overlook them, alas, not this time.I’m hoping Ms Vella continues the series with the Deville brothers and I hope Ditrimy and Gabe become a couple. I have my fingers crossed.

Another winner for me
THE LADY’S FORBIDDEN LOVEby Wendy VellaThis is the 7th book in the LANGLEY SISTERS series. The story revolves around Daniel (Dillinger) and Abigail (Deville), though usually called Abby.I will not give away the plot because I have no wish to spoil anyone’s enjoyment of being able to read it themselves. It took me longer than I expected to get into the story (where I find it difficult to put the book down no matter the time or what I should be doing). and I suspect that it might have been because I kept waiting for a connection to the Langley Sisters or the families mentioned in the series that I was familiar with. I have a very poor memory and it took me a while to find it.I could have done with a tiny bit less repetition of the ‘issue’ between Abby and Daniel but that didn’t stop me from enjoying this new book.I really love of the way Wendy incorporates characters who I have become very fond of, having read their stories previously. I would emphasis that so far, all of Wendy Vella’s books that I have read are stand-alone stories. However For me reading all the previous books in the series, I get added enjoyment knowing the history and background of many of her characters whom I really like, especially the younger children who are growing up as more books are written.Although far from unusual, I was still caught by surprise by an unexpected, late story twist. Fan’s of Wendy Vellas’s Regency stories will not be disappointed in ‘The Lady’s Forbidden Love’. Would I recommend this new book? You bet I would!

Engaging characters.
4.5 starsI did enjoy this book very much. The main characters of Daniel and Abbie were very engaging. Abbie had four very overprotective brothers, who watched and supervised her every move. Although they loved her, she felt stifled and longed for freedom to do as she wished. Daniel was of a different social class to Abbie and felt that he was unworthy of her affections. Although, they had a real connection, Daniel felt he should distance himself because of his feelings of inferiority. I enjoyed the sibling banter in both families. Daniel has some deep feelings to come to terms with that concerns his brother, from a time when he was much younger. There are a few dangerous moments and some interesting secondary characters. I would love to hear more of Abbie’s friend Dimity and would enjoy her elder brother, Gabe, meeting his match. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Great story had me hooked from beginning to end!!
I love all of Wendy’s books and this one did not disappoint!! I love how all her characters are interwoven throughout different books and seamlessly interact with one another. She has now introduced Daniel and Abigail into this wonderful regency world and their story was beautifully written and had me hooked from the first page I could not put it down until I had completed it. I won’t give away the plot but it is a must read you will not be disappointed and if you enjoy the Raven and Sinclair series then this gives you a glimpse into how the younger children are growing up and starting off in the world.

Another brilliant read.
This author never disappoints, she is a must read for me. There are some benefits from lockdown, one of them being I do not need to feel guilty if I sit and read all day. Once started I could not put this book down until I had finished it and then it was a disappointment because I had come to the end. I am now going back to read the whole series from the beginning. I hope that the next book will be about one of Abby's brothers. Do read this book you will not be disappointed.

Sweet
Sweet story with a bit of adventure and intrigue. However the love story felt shoe horned in, I did not quite figure out why they fell in love! Other than for the fact they are main characters.

This book is centred around Daniel and Abbie and has everything a good book should have, romance, a bit of danger and intrigue. You won’t be disappointed.I received an ARC for an honest review

Entertaining Story with a Wonderful Couple!
Our heroine is Abigail Wright aka Abby, a governess, who decides to sneak out of her house for a taste of freedom and has presented herself as Lady Abigail Deville, sister of an earl. Daniel Dillinger is our successful businessman hero, who has only one thing he will not tolerate and that is betrayal. When Daniel and Abby meet, there is an instant attraction but Daniel soon discovers that Abby was not who she claimed to be, he was furious and vowed to avoid her forever. But fate had other plans, and they soon found themselves in danger from a mysterious enemy who wanted Abby dead. Can they overcome their mistrust and find their HEA?I enjoyed the suspense, humor, and passion in the book plus the chemistry between the couple was sizzling. Abby was a strong and independent heroine who did not let her brothers or society dictate her life. Daniel was a handsome and honorable hero who had a soft spot for Abby despite his anger. The plot was fast-paced and kept me hooked until the end and the writing style was smooth and easy to follow. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I did.

Daniel gets what he deserves....
As per usual Wendy takes us back into the world of regency London and does not disappoint. Daniel, Ace(Oliver)'s brother (from Lady plays her Ace - book 4) meets an intriguing woman at a pub and goes back there several times hoping to see her again. The next time he does he walks her home thinking she is working class only to discover on a chance encounter that she is not what she said and he lets dreams of a happily ever after go.Nothing is ever that easy and Daniel will have to reevaluate everything he believes to be true to fight for the love of his life and for his actual life when Ace's past catches up to them.A riveting story that I just couldn't put down, immerse yourself in this amazing world of Wendy's and spend a day caught up in this romance of a life time.

Good Family Dynamics
Abigail “Abby” Wright, daughter of an earl, lives with four protective brothers. She wanted one night of freedom, so she snuck out. She met Daniel Dillinger, and he presumed she was a governess. Abby did not correct. They have a wonderful night visiting. Daniel then learns she is the daughter of an earl. Abby sees the anger smoldering in his eyes. Daniel keeps her secret and vows he will bit cross her path again. He soon discovers what led to Abby’s deception, and he saves her from a knife-wielding villain. Daniel realizes he can no longer deny what is in his heart. He wants to keep Abby safe because losing her is not something he can contemplate. - . Abby is feisty. I love the way she stands up to her brothers Daniel is a kind, smart, and successful. Abby’s brothers respect Daniel but want Abby to marry someone with a title. Abby does not care about that, but Daniel thinks noblemen are above those not bon with a title. He fights his attraction to Abby, and that is frustrating to Abby, reader and Daniel’s family, and the reader. I enjoyed the family dynamics in this historical romance. It is a good read.

Be prepared for sleepless nights. You will not want to put it down when you start!
I love this book. I love how the characters in previous books in this series form part of the story. I savour every chapter. I love a happy ending and sad that this is the last book in the series. But wait! I just realised a new series has started with the Deville brothers, which is like a continuation of the last series! Can't wait to get into them.
