desertcart.com: Lady Pirate: 9780062019738: Sands, Lynsay: Books Review: Funny, fast-paced, and enjoyable. A great historical romance read! - *ARC provided by Publisher* Itโs been a long time since I picked up a historical romance with a pirate lead, but I have to say, I seriously enjoyed this one. Not only was Lady Pirate well-written and engaging, but the execution of the premise was so entertaining and fun to read. Valoree Ainsley is a pirate and captain of her own ship, but in order to gain her inheritance, she needs to become a lady and marry a nobleman. To say sheโs against this change in status is an understatement, though she does go along with it for the sake of her men and the promises that were made to them. But wearing dresses, makeup, and learning how to be a lady? Not exactly her cup of tea. Funny, fast-paced, and easy to follow, with a strong, feisty, uncultured heroine and an amused, dashing, thoroughly intrigued hero, Lady Pirate is a decidedly enjoyable historical romance read that does an excellent job of combining all of its elements into a fun and entertaining story. Review: great read - An Excellent plot with several twist, well developed characters and a well written adventure interlaced with humor and good dialogue, make this an exciting adventure and romance that you wonโt want to miss. ๐๐๐๐

A few instances of inconsitent characterization
So I like Lynsay Sands, generally, and I liked this story fairly well. The problems I encountered with the story were mainly personal preference based. The heroine is fun and likeable, and very no nonsense, and the back and forth between her and the hero is believable and good. My issue is that while Lynsay makes sure to explain the heroine is a capable swordsman and feared pirate, she goes out of her way to avoid ever having her fight. Even at the end of the book where the heroine is confronting the villain who murdered her brother, it's the hero who ultimately engages and kills him. It felt wishy washy to me, to say she was so feared and talented and then try to keep her "pure" by never going through with allowing her to BE that feared pirate. You can't have it both ways; either she is a pirate captain capable of killing to defend herself and that which she holds dear, or she is a pure heroine who has never taken a life. It actually made me like the heroine LESS because Lynsay wouldn't commit. That said it was an enjoyable if somewhat disjointed read.

Highly recommend for any Lyndsay Sands fans or romance fans
As most romance novels, this took a little bit to get going. However itโs pretty good even at the beginning. There is a lot of action in this book on land and at sea; danger and romance! I enjoyed reading this and have looked forward to this book for a while now Highly recommend for any Lyndsay Sands fans or romance fans

Another Great Sands Novel
Lynsay Sands Has Done It Again ! She's written another Great Book That Gives The Reader Everything ! In the pages of Lady Pirate you will find love, laughter, intrigue, revenge, and adventure. And some plot twists you will not see coming. One in particular just Blew My Mind ! I kept thinking I knew where it was going only to have the story go in a completely different direction ! This Book Is So Much Fun !! Read It !!!

It is a comedy farce, rather than a bodice ripper.
It is a comedy farce, rather than a bodice ripper. Hilarious, but not what the cover represents at all. Well written, so KUDOs for that.

Cute!
A fun fairly clean historical romance. A bit of sex but no where near as graphic as they are in today's books. No real swearing a lot of hidden feelings, fun mishaps and a cute HEA. Enjoyed the read if there'd been another like it I'd have read it with no problems.
