Very in depth
It is a very slow start but it definitely gives so much insight. We live in such a busy, loud society that we very often forget to pause and hear what God is telling us, showing us or providing for us.

The Best Work of Danielle Bean Yet
Danielle Bean's work as an author, magazine writer and editor, as a podcaster, television host, retreat leader and speaker has always inspired and encouraged me but this book did more than that, it changed me. It changed my prayer life, it helped me encounter God in a whole new way and it made His presence known to me differently. That's a really big deal.Danielle has a relatable, enjoyable, readable way of bringing us closer to God. Her theology is spot on, her love for God shines through and her desire for you to find that love springs forth on every page.If you are trying to find a closer relationship with God in those everyday moments of your life, this is the book for you. God can be encountered every day - just open your eyes to see Him right next to you
“The ultimate goal is not to seek God across some giant chasm, but to find out that he’s right here.”This is the theme in Danielle Bean’s newest book, Whisper. I’m not usually a reader of introductions of books as they don’t speak to me, but I decided to read Danielle’s intro to Whisper, and I’m so glad I did.Like myself, Danielle is a mom of grown kids, and she wrote that older writers have so much to share and to say…and my ears perked up! There are many good books out there by young, Catholic moms, but I needed to hear from a peer…someone who’s been there and done that. Danielle’s wisdom in this book really shines through.I really enjoyed Danielle’s self-deprecating humor, as it gently pointed to my own faults and failures. In doing so, I know I am reading a book written by a woman who is very much like me, and I am open to her wisdom. She writes that God doesn’t need to be searched for. He is next to me, waiting for me to turn and look him in the eye. I need to just open my eyes and see him. The chapters in Whisper lead the reader to where God can be found, where he is waiting for us. In other people, in our pain, in the Sacraments, in Scripture, and many other places.Whisper is a lovely read. At the end of the book, the reader finds that Danielle has given us the gift of “bonus material.” There’s a rich section she titles “Everyday Prayers,” 15 pages of prayers and meditations for every day and season of life.My favorite part is the last section of bonus material, which, to me, is like a mini retreat: “Everyday Scripture.” But it’s not “everyday” in any way. In this section, Danielle has gifted us with multiple Scripture passages to meditate upon for each chapter in the book. It enables the reader to go deeper into each of the “everyday” ways we can encounter God.Encountering God is not an “everyday” experience, yet he CAN be encountered EVERY day. All we need to do is open our eyes and turn to him. He is waiting for us. Right next to us.

Must-read if you’re looking for God
Trying to find God in your life? This book has a different answer than a searching for Him during prayer time. Yes, praying is good and beautiful and needed. But what happens outside of your prayer time? Where is He in the everyday? Danielle Bean shows us. Filled with relatable personal experiences, and also some simple prayers, Danielle illustrates how it’s possible to know God is with us not just during quiet prayer time, but in every step of our day.I finished this book with a renewed sense of meeting God in those moments when I might want to ignore an annoying person or complain about some little misfortune. Moments when I’m hungry or tired or hurt. Prayer is beautiful when it’s away from the noise of life, yet it’s also refreshing to realize how the actions of my life are a prayer - and not in a cliche way. In a very genuine and beautiful way.So, if you are that person who is wondering how to find God - this book will no doubt be a treasure for you. You’ll look forward to each chapter and probably nod your head, like I did, laugh a little, cry a little, and finish it feeling inspired (not overwhelmed!) to find God in the everyday.
