Hello I found a description for you in the instructions for this product Flushmate Original Part BU100505-K Upper supply kit for all series | BU100504-K | BU100503-K Upper Supply, For Use with All 2-Piece Toilet Configurations, Includes Upper Supply Assembly, O-Ring, Hose Clamp Restrictions Note: Flushmate system is not sold as a retrofit component for a gravity-fed toilet. Flushmate System Pressurized flush eliminates double flush and clogs and saves water. Fewer moving parts extends service life. 1ATR2 is designed to replace any previous generation of Flushmate series, including 500, 501, 501-A, and 501-B (except American Standard fixtures). 2VRN8 is designed to replace series 500, 501, 501A, and 501B in American Standard tank number 4086. Include tank-to-bowl gasket. Flush cartridge, upper supply, and lower supply are replacement parts for all Flushmate systems. This upper supply may sit higher than the upper supply used on the 200, 500, and 501-A series. However, if the porcelain tank lid is resting on the upper supply, it may need to be shimmed up on the opposite side to level it out. Another option is to get a new Flushmate system. Flushmate vessels and components do not retrofit into gravity type toilets. They are only used with Flushmate-equipped toilets.

Q: Does this replace the brass fitting that came on original Flushmate 504?

The fitting I replaced was plastic. However, it didn’t stop the running. There is a small filter in the water inlet that you should remove to increase the pressure. Those flush mate systems also have a recall so you may want to call them before getting too far off into the weeds.

Q: Does this come with the Duckbill Valve?

FYI, I called Sloan and they sold me 4 duckbill valves for $3.66 (on sale), but of course I paid $8 for shipping. still, a better value than this.

Q: What happens in tank if the upper valve goes bad?

The toilet will run. This can also be caused by clogged inlet screen.
