Great book for a book report for school

Sent this book to my niece who is a nurse and likes to read. The order was received and she likes the book. I've heard this book when it was read on more than one occasion on the Family Radio Reading Circle. The books they read are either missionary stories or stories of Christian heroes. Clara Barton was a young woman who believed she was called by the Lord to be a nurse on the front lines of the battlefields of the American civil war and in 1881 brought the American Red Cross to America.

I enjoyed reading this. It was easy to read, not "labor-intensive, so I was able to complete the biography in a short amount of time. I am 54 years old and do not read much as I would like to read; but biographies like this (which I like) written simply and clearly encourage me to read more. I have my eyes on the biography of Harriet Tubman, which I want to order some time in the future. This series of Christian biographies I recommend for biography lovers.

We have 30 of these biographies and with 4 daughters and 2 granddaughters they have been used a lot. They are written about about 6th grade level but can be inspiring and enjoyable reading for adults as well. They make good book reports but also help teach godly character and values. It is the type of book that you want to be sure keeps moving from one person to another because it is such a great story

I truly enjoyed this book. Clara was a strong women who had great feeling for life, and those who lost theirs for all man kind.The Civil War was a time of great sadness. Lest we forget all those who gave for us !
