I have two of these units which I use to hold tools and Glass Rods. When I am working on a glass bead I must keep the glass in or near the torch flame. When I reach for a glass rod or tool I need to be able to grasp the item I am reaching for quickly. This tool rest is perfect for that objective. I am very pleased with this tool rest and will probably purchase more in the future.

Use it all the time for my lamp work. It is very helpful to hold and keep off the table the hot rods after use. They keep the rods elevated, organized, and prevent rolling. Its is perfect and worth the money.

It works great! Holds hot tools no problem or a piece of glass that just came off the flame.

I've used this for pulling torch-fired enamels off of glass bead mandrels. It is sturdy and well-balanced so I would recommend it to anyone who might need a heat-proof tool rest. Since I'm not doing enamels at the moment I'm using it to hold watercolor brushes.
