Corporate secretary Shirotani suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder in this doctor-patient romance fraught with compulsion! Corporate secretary Shirotani suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder. One day he meets Kurose, a therapist who offers to take him through a ten-step program to cure him of his compulsion. As the two go through each of the ten steps, Shirotani’s attraction to his counselor grows. Corporate secretary Shirotani suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder. As the two go through each of the ten steps, Shirotani’s attraction to his counselor grows. Review: A germophobe and a therapist walk into a room... - Shirotani believes that the whole world is dirty and contaminated. Handling certain objects is difficult for him, at best. Even so, he considers his beliefs to be his problem and no one else’s. But perhaps it’s time to readjust his thinking when he finds himself the cause of his employer being injured in an accident. Through the accident, Shirotani meets Kurose, who makes some very astute observations regarding Shirotani’s idiosyncracies. How does Kurose know? Kurose suggests Shirotani see a counselor and gives him a card, which Shirotani surprisingly keeps. Not sure why, Shirotani finds himself in front of the address on the card. As he’s standing there, Kurose rides up on his bicycle. It turns out he’s a counselor at the center. He’s glad to see Shirotani there. But when Shirotani attempts to bolt, Kurose suggests that perhaps the two of them can meet, outside of the center, so he can help Shirotani. They end up meeting at a restaurant where they discuss Shirotani’s problem and some of the limits of what he can and cannot do. Kurose has him make out a list of ten actions or activities Shirotani has an aversion to, with number one being the one with the least aversion and so on. Shirotani leaves the number ten spot open, and Kurose says he can fill it in later. By the time he completes everything on the list, Kurose declares, Shirotani will be cured! Kurose assures Shirotani he need never come to the clinic. When he asks about a consulting fee, Kurose says there will be none, as he’s doing it on his own time. When Shirotani asks why he would do that, he’s surprised at Kurose’s answer—he wants to be Shirotani’s friend! And so they begin with the first item on Shirotani’s list—to touch a door knob bare-handed. I think the premise for this yaoi series is very unique. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. I like the way it handles Shirotani’s compulsions, never making light of them. Kurose is a thorough professional and very understanding. When Shirotani is late, Kurose usually knows why that is, what he’s gone through just to get there. But I think he also realizes he has feelings for Shirotani that he isn’t about to reveal or burden him with while they are in this current relationship of counselor and counselee. Of course I’m hoping that Shirotani and Kurose will become a couple, and I’m hoping that the tenth unrevealed item on Shirotani’s list is to be able to fall in love, and that he will do so with Kurose. Time will tell. There are five more volumes to go, looking forward to reading them. Review: sweetest bl i have ever read - this manga is 18+ but just saying if your intrested in it no matter the age go for it. it starts of slow but that apart of its charm i honestly got hooked the seme and uke are some really lovable characters. i especially like the art style and the gremophobe accepct. i also really like the scicoligy behind it. sorry for the bad spelling but good manga you should definetly buy it

Can’t stop reading
I love the concept and the awareness of OCD and how it can affect a persons every day life. I liked how It was a different character I hadn’t read about before. The ending leaves you not wanting to wait for the second volume so make sure to have it on hand ! I’ve read up to volume 3 and it’s really great. I will say the consent when it comes to some scenes in the following volumes aren’t always followed so it may be a turn off to some, it usually is for me, however the semi in this manga no doubt loves the uke so much and is upfront and honest with his feelings and intentions. He cares a lot about the uke and it’s really sweet as you keep reading on. He doesn’t trap or manipulate and allows the uke to make decisions and share his feelings so hold on and keep reading ! I’m enjoying it and curious to see how the last volume ends. I’m rooting for them !

Almost Speechless
This manga. Is probably one of the best I've ever read. Yaoi, or otherwise. The storyline, the characters, the artwork, the intensity, their backgrounds, their emotions, it is absolutely tantalizing. I've been reading it for almost a year and each time a new chapter is uploaded I have to remind myself to wait a little awhile because a new one won't be uploaded for about a month. Now that it's come out in English and I have the actual book I may not even take it out of the wrapper. A truely fantastic read if you are able to handle BL, the buildup to their relationship is slow enough to keep you on your toes, and I CAN'T WAIT for the next volumes to come out. Thank you Sensei! Love your work!

Ten Count Pleases In Unexpected Ways
The first volume of Ten Count takes its time introducing main protagonists Shirotani and Kurose, allowing for a much more realistic depiction of a budding romance. Author AND illustrator Rihito Takarai has created a world that is very easy to invest yourself in as you watch the story unfold between two shy, troubled men. This Boys' Love story is surprisingly lacking in the love department; though I appreciated the decision to go sweet before sexy. Don't worry, later volumes will heat up but the story so far is strong enough to not have to rely on any eroticism. It is also exciting to see characters with real life mental illnesses in this type of medium, as well as see them treated with respect. Ten Count is one of the best produced manga that I've read in awhile. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a sweet yaoi story that focuses on character development and trust rather than a cosmic attraction. I will say this. Don't make the same mistake I did and be sure to have Vol. 2 on hand because Vol. 1 ends on a cliffhanger.

Enjoyed the First Book, but Series Turned too Dub-Con
I was a little hesitant about the "doctor-patient" relationship, but they meet outside a professional setting and are never clinically connected, so it is more like meeting a friend who happens to be a therapist. So that wasn't too bad for me. The first book isn't really explicit, it lays the groundwork for the series, but that gave it room for a fairly interesting story and characters. The artwork is good. That said..... (spoilers for the sake of CW below) . . . I got the rest of the series to see how it progressed, and ended up stopping because it was too Non-Con and Dub-Con. It's put forth as "exposure therapy" for the main character's germophobia (more on that in a sec), for him to be doing things that make him uncomfortable, but when we get into the explicit scenes and he is like "no, stop, I don't want to", and the seme is like "but your body is saying something different", that is a real red flag for me. I just think it could have been handled better, where the uke finally finds someone he trusts enough to be willing to work on his aversions, but instead it feels like he is being manipulated in a really toxic way. Also.... (really, spoilers for vol. 4) The book starts with the main character presenting as having OCD and/or Germophobia, and as a work of fiction, you can understand if the clinical details aren't totally perfect. The first book, where his new friend (future seme), helps him work through uncomfortable situations by distracting him is actually really good. However, in volume 4, we learn it is not lifelong OCD, but a kind of trauma response to something in his childhood. It's not child SA exactly, more like exposure to adult's acts(?), but I feel it certainly needs some kind of a content warning. That's when I dropped the series. Standalone, I give the first book 4/5, but the series as a whole is probably 2/5, and a No Go if you have certain triggers.

I really loved this. REALLY loved it
I really loved this. REALLY loved it. I am an inveterate manga reader, particularly in the BL genre, and this is probably the most impressed I have ever been with a manga from that genre. There is still so much more to learn and find out about the characters, too. Most of what I'd like to say has been stated before, but I *really* want to credit the team at SuBLime for doing such a fantastic job. When it comes to English releases in the yaoi genre, it's unfortunate to say but in the past, with major licencer DMG/June's "quantity over quality" approach, the bar was not set very high with regard to the quality of translation and localization you'd get. I should say that it was very inconsistent, and during the "boom period" for yaoi, the quality would vary wildly between releases with that particular company. It is extremely refreshing to see that SuBLime puts so much into the translation work for each title, clearly aiming for a consistent standard of quality that they all but never fail to meet. I think we should all be very grateful to them for raising the bar when it comes to what defines a truly "professional release" in the yaoi industry.

Really Dark But Interesting Story with Complex Relationships
Already read in japanese, was so psyched to see this translated that I preordered immediately! This is a really great, deep story. It is pretty dark though, so don't buy this if you're looking for fluffy or sweet yaoi love. Unfortunately that's not what you find. This is about a man who is fighting with the fact that he has mysophobia (due to a very dark past), and about a psychiatrist who ends up helping him and becoming attached to him for his own reasons that are pretty depressing as well. A wonderful read none the less! WARNING. THIS IS YAOI. BOYxBOY If you can't understand that, and buy this anyway you get what you deserve!

a beautiful story, really captivating!
When a saw the title of this manga, I thought it was about a count very rich, I don't even know why! But I was attracted by the covers and this intriguing title, so I did read it. And it really was a revelation, for me! This story is very serious and realistic, about a young man, Shirotani, who's suffering of germophobia. This story is harsh, I think, but really touching and moving. Shirotani is really ill, he can't do anything without being terrified by germs, can't touch the "world" (he always wears gloves), can't eat outside, nor even buy a book in a library. At the beginning of this story, the boss of Shirotani have an accident, but his live is saved by another young man, Kirose. We discover really fast that this Kirose is a psychiatrist, and specialized in treatment of germophobia. He really wants to help Shirotani, though he doesn't know him... so he proposes to help him with a therapy that is really efficient in the treatment of this phobia. Shirotani must write on a paper ten levels of his phobia (here comes this title! ^^) and few by few, try to accomplish these points. Though even the first one seems not far that impossible for Shirotani! But when love interfers, everthing seems to become possible... It seems that the relationship between the 2 heros could be the turning point for curing Shirotani... But why is Kurose even interested in Shirotani? I did read the first 5 tomes, and I plan to buy them all when they will be disponible! This story is really beautiful, and the future developpements are sooo moving, that I was really sad that the end is not written for now!! ;-) I can only tell you that there is a lot of explicit sex in the tomes 3 at 5, so you mustn't be shy to read this story! But it is a real heart stroke for me! <3

It came on time, sealed in great condition (much better then what’s you’d get from a store) and the story itself is amazing, adorable, nicley paced and EEEEP!! I’m definitely gonna get the second volume for when things get more juicy!

Love this author and manga
Can't believe the low rating this story has. It's an amazing story I've been following for the last 2 years and I can't wait for the other volumes. Yes the story is slow but for good reason and anyone that has been following this manga knows that it gets better. The explicit warning is for the later volumes of 3 and onwards (graphic sex scenes) . For those who are considering reading please don't let the other comments stop you from reading this amazing series. Hope I could help some interested in this.
