First, because these are USB, the signal path is all digital and that means you don't need to spend more money to get a better sound quality when it comes to these things. The sound will not be degraded or somehow changed other than the USB jitter noise will either be there or won't be there but it will have zero effect on the actual sound itself because that's not how digital sound works (it's not like analog where something like cable distance and devices along the signal path can color a signal). That said, this thing works! I am so happy and it's so simple: just plug in to your computer and then plug your USB audio interface into it. I have a Volt 2 USB audio interface that I use with Ableton and for some dumb reason that thing developed noise when connected to USB. Kind of dumb that a USB audio interface whose sole job is to provide clean audio over USB would have a noise problem when connected to USB but it does! This interface fixed that and I am super pleased about that. It was a cheap solution and ensures I don't have to replace my USB audio interface which I really didn't want to do (it works great with Ableton other than the USB noise). I have ZERO, NONE, ZILCH, NADDA added noise coming out of my speakers now and everything sounds better than ever since the speakers don't have to waste energy on reproducing that awful USB interference sound. So, if you're on the fence on whether this will work for you or not, just get it. If your problem is due to USB noise (you'll know because if you unplug the USB cable going to your USB audio interface and then plug it back in and then hear noise all of a sudden that wasn't there when the cable was disconnected, you've got a USB noise problem ... if you hear added noise when the cable is disconnected, check your grounds!). Worst case scenario: it doesn't work and you return it but not likely if your problem is USB noise.

I installed this between my computer and Yaesu amateur radio transceiver to protect against voltage transients on the USB bus. It is powered by the usb port on the computer, and so far data transmission (for both CAT control and audio) seems to be fine. I have no way to prove that it will protect the radio, but it is specified for 1.5KV isolation on the power bus and 2.5 KV on the signal lines, so it should handle anything other than a direct lightning strike.

This worked initially. Did what it was supposed to do, then stopped working altogether. I confirmed the problem is the isolator, light is on but anything plugged into it cannot communicate with the computer. I tried other USB ports. No help. Devices plugged directly into computer USB work, so it is definitely the isolator. Contacted the seller. Will see if they make it right.

I bought this to eliminate additional noise that was created when connecting an audio/MIDI device to my computer through both USB and audio output. It completely eliminates the noise.

It worked flawlessly. Adding it before my AudioQuest Dragonfly Black instantly eliminated one big source of audio noise. It didn't touch the noise that isn't coming over USB power, but I didn't think it would. Note that this only provides a little bit of power. It's enough for my Dragonfly, but won't power more energy hungry devices. The only down side is that the isolator and my Dragonfly are both hard dongles so they made a big lever when I plugged them directly into my USB port. I didn't like that so I added a flexible 6" USB extension cable.

No instrctions are provided by the manufacture on the best installation locations and the unit imeedeatly block the data flow on the USB ports

I have not tested the isolation, although it should be good. Howecer, I had data transfer problems with these and discontinued using them.

I had a ground loop burn out a $1,200 computer based oscilloscope. I bought this and a new PC based oscilloscope and now use this to isolate the PC. No more smoke! The isolation voltage rating of this unit is very impressive which is very important in my application.

I had a hum which was caused by a USB 2.0 Zoom audio interface plugged into my desktop PC. I plugged this USB isolator into the PC and plugged the USB interface into it, now the hum is gone and the audio is perfectly clean.

Tut genau was es soll. Ich hatte ein leises schrilles Pfeifen in meinem Signalweg im Homestudio. PC ist verbunden u.A. mit Morningstar Midi-Controller am Pedalboard. Das Pfeifen kam über die Gitarren-Amps. Mit dem DSD ist das Pfeifen weg. Man muss berücksichtigen, dass der Stecker recht klobig ist. An meinem PC konnte ich es nicht direkt anschließen, da die USB-Slots nah an einander sind, da ging das DSD nicht rein- viel zu breit. Aber mit einer USB Verlängerung ging es am USB-Slot.

Fonctionne pour isoler une carte son USB et avoir moins de bruit parasite venant des composants PC - surtout dans des enceintes actives comme j'ai. Il reste un léger buzz, qui vient des enceintes elles-même et de leur relation avec la prise de terre, mais dans mon cas 95% du bruit parasite venait de la carte son. Et ce bidule corrige ça. Super.
