Makes OK scans for the money
Update: seller YOOPAI3D reached out to me and was helpful. They stand behind the product. For smaller items like the dental molds I was scanning this scanner simply cannot hit the 0.1mm claimed accuracy. For larger items it might work but I don't have larger calibrated gages to test. As far as receiving used items this was sold through Amazon fulfillment so others could have used it and returned it stating it was new. With a new quirky tech item like this and all the youtubers making reviews it wouldn't surprise me if multiple people tested these out and then returned them.Original review.Recieved the first scanner. Clearly used. Seals broken on all bags and boxes. Power and cables loose without zipties. Dirt and fingerprints on scanner including lenses. Recieved replacement through Amazon from the same seller fulfillment. Unit was worse than the first. As far as the scanner if you want to scan large items it will do it with lots of crashing, but you can get it to work. Even professional metrology equipment faces the same problems. What is misleading is the claimed 0.1mm accuracy. That's totally unachievable on smaller items. The variance I got was over 1.5 mm using a NIST calibrated standard gage when I needed to actually achieve 0.1mm.

Worked better than I thought
There is definitely a learning curve when trying out this product. Don't give up if the 1st try try doesn't come out as you expected perit's affected. It's a little bit getting used to how you should maneuver that yeah maneuver the scanner around the object and what the best angle to have a workout, And also what settings to use. When using the turntable make sure to 1st scan the turntable and Then set it as a base, comma and then start scanning your object that way it doesn't attach it to the turntable. Do know that it doesn't work very well with dark objects since it doesn't really bounce off the laser but they do give you a White cap for you to put over the head. If you really want to get the hair of an object or person I would color it to any color that we are able to detect it.

Trouble installing software but great scan results.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I was looking at this and the revo pop scanner decided to go with this scanner because its able to scan larger object where as the revo pop can only scan stuff turntable sized.Once I got scanner in the mail setup was a pain because software is so new it's not trusted on windows yet so will need to turn off anti-virus and firewall to be able to install the drivers once installed and using the updated software it was up and working no problem. So as for the scanner itself build quality is solid comes with some stl files to print a hand grip if you'd like only complaint about the scanner itself is the usb/power cables are very short so if you plan on doing people or larger objects you might want a rolling cart and a laptop. The scanner can scan just about anything except dark surfaces such as anything black like a black shirt or dark hair (see photos) another issue is anything shiny or real glossy because the camera has a strobing light to help scan the object and the light can show glare in the texture of the object (see picture of Jif jar scan) all of this Is expected with these types of scanners and can be alleviated by using some scanning spray/powder (talc or baby powder works)All in all I was happy with how the scan did even on the glossy plastic and sticker of the Jif Jar as well as the quick partial scan I did of a friend the texture of her clothes and skin came out great and the mesh was smooth on the skin portions with no bump artifacts in the skin.Besides initial installation the software is for the most part pretty intuitive to get started and the version that came on the usb drive vs the current version you can see the improvements in stability I had less "lost tracking" errors on new one. I just wish the scanner came with more than "quick start instructions" because alot of the scanners more advanced functions have no tooltips to indicate what they do tho the software is still new so I expect it to improve as time goes on.

Works but did not delvier the results I was looking for
As my first move into 3D scanning, I had high hopes for this device as it had good ratings, some nice features, and a modest entry price point. In the end it just could not do what I wanted it to do. Part of this is on me as I wanted a device that was relatively easy to use out of the box (minimal setup) and could handle smaller and finer detailed objects like miniatures and toys. The .1mm scan depth is good and comparable with many models, and it was not terribly difficult to setup although early on I realized that with the tripod and round plate not being fixed you need to think about measuring the space and lighting all of which can impact scan quality. Also, even a minor movement of any of the devices means re-calibrate even if I just tapped the table to hard.It is very sensitive to any light so a nearly dark room helped with quality but smaller items still came out muddy. The answer per the internet was to due multiple passes (like 4 or 8) to get as much detail and angles which worked OK at best to help the muddy texture, but also often meant I had to align those various angles when the software could not figure it out.In the end it was not the mode I needed for what I wanted. Simple medium size shapes worked fine. Simple Geometry worked fine. I did not test hand held.Smaller or true fine detailed items not so good and I did ensure that I was prepping my items to be scanned. As a comparison the exact same items on a Shining3D .05.. cam out with 1 pass, 2 at most with super fine details. (Granted it is more then double the Creality.I did a quick comparison video on Youtube if you search for:"3D Scanning for fine detail objects like miniatures, toys, replacement parts"

not bad for the price
it's more like 2mm or so resolution since I can't get objects so close to the camera on the turntablebut it works well with sort of bigger objects around the size of the turntable vs small objectsthe app works well if it works, there's not much documentation if things don't work with the auto buttons
