VTech IS8121-3 Long Range Cordless Phone, 3 Handsets

We paid $88 for this set of three phones because they were advertised to be boosted long range strong signal cordless phones. In just even using the main phone at the base station, the phone cuts in and out during calls! It also has that cheap situation where while you are on the phone, if your head moves at all in relation to the phone, there is no 'feedback' from the shape of the earpiece to tell where the speaker is. So, you'll be listening to someone and then they will get fainter, and then you can't hear them... and sometimes it is the signal cutting in and out for the caller, and sometimes it is that your ear is drifting up and down the handset, searching for the tiny speaker in order to hear the caller talk! TERRIBLE purchase, and unfortunately, byt he time we got around to charging and setting up the bases all around our house, and then testing how well the phones worked at different locations, and then using them during actual calls where you don't just listen for a dial tone-- we had tossed the return box and taken off the little plastic covers. So, now it seems like we are stuck with throwing these terrible phones out and buying a new corded set or else testing out a different variety. DO NOT assume that paying almost $100 will guarantee the phones are cheap crap.

Battery: My only complaint is the battery life. These use a 300 mAh battery pack that appears to be 2-AAA batteries. I would prefer a larger battery pack so I would not need to recharge every 3 days for phones that are on standby most of the time.Excellent Range: This system replaced a 5+ year old V-Tech one that was getting scratchy reception in the back room that I use as an office. This new one has extended range and the signal is much better and quite usable in the farthest room from the base. Conversations are reported by the other party on the phone to be very clear.Value: I bought the 3-Handset V-Tech as I found it cheap - about the same price as the 2-Handset system. I use one phone, while the second is a backup for when the primary phone needs charging. The third phone is still in the box for future use.PS: I had to put felt pads on the back of the phones because I kept almost knocking them off the desk when I reached to pick them up. They slide very easily on a hard surface.

These replaced my old 3 phone setup. They work as well or better. My old phones would speak out the caller ID, I miss this feature. I do like that I can mute the ring for up to 12 hours! When someone calls while muted, the light still flashes which is useful! I can also connect my cell phone while it’s charging and answer those calls with this phone!!! No more carrying 2 phones to yard!

I got my new phone. It's nice. It's the second one that I ordered. My first one I never got but I paid for it. When I tracked it all it said was it was "LOST". I never got a refund or anything.

The telephone plug that connects to the jack would not stay inserted. It was cheap and I had to use my old phone connector in order to use the unit.

This phone works great it has eliminated 99% of my ROBO calls and most of my solicitation calls as most of them cannot or do not want to push the # just to leave me a message.I like that the light on top of the handset lights up when there is a call so can keep the ringer volume down, the screen and buttons light up well and are easy for me to see in low light conditions.Also, it paired easily with my cell phone and all my cell phone contacts so that all their calls will ring right through.No more long distance charges on my landline phone because this phone can use my cell phones unlimited calling plan.I noticed that if i am using this phone to talk using my cell phone line the ROBO caller block feature does not block and i get a ROBO message, that is why only the 4 stars.Very convenient to have the three handsets around the place.

So nice to be able to cut out the robo calls - it's worth it just for that feature. The audio seems a bit strange - almost like it operates simplex instead of duplex but that's not a big flaw. The blue tooth does work and I would suggest using it to load your contacts from your smart phone, since one wrong move and you can delete all your contacts on the phones, and they are not that easy to install. With blue tooth you just upload them again. Contacts are much easier to add on your smart phone.

They work, but not as clear as I was hoping when working off my cell phone. It does block most spam calls!
