I done a lot of research on YouTube before purchasing this lathe. I actually had a different more expensive lathe in the cart but after watching reviews I decided to find this one and give it a shot. Easy to use, lightweight, seems to be good quality, and functions well. We have already made 3 ink pens on it and they was easy to form and make using the lathe and the tools that came with the machine. I do recommend finding a way to mount it so it doesn't move while using and this is because of the lightweight and the powerful little engine on it. If you are looking for a lathe to do really small little projects this is a great buy to have at hand.

Bought this knowing it was not going to be of quality, but in hopes that it could be a cheap lathe I could use briefly to decide whether or not I was interested in wood turning, and if it would be worth investing in a decent lathe. I was intent on attempting to turn a chess piece or two just to give the hobby a try, but this machine is incapable of that. Turning a small, 2” x 3/4” red oak dowel, the lightest touch with any blade stops the motor entirely, reguardless of speed. I thought this could be due to the included tools (which are entirely useless) and tried a higher quality sharper blade only to be met with the same issue. Though I am new to lathes, I am not new to woodworking, and the general technique is not lost on me. If you are interested trying wood turning, I would suggest searching eBay or Craigslist for a decent used mini-lathe, or finding someone who has one already. This will just cause you more frustration than it is worth. Two stars because it actually arrived…

So I am big into woodworking and wanted to try a lathe for small parts and this seemed like a nice intro tool to play around with to build some skills. It was delivered within 24 hours which is always nice. unfortunately it would not turn on at all. The machine feels like pretty good quality but the power adapter not so much. the lights on the adapter would not come on at all. I returned the first and had a new one within 24 hours. I tested immediately and it's working and the motor seems good. Not going to review using it sense I'm not familiar with using any lathe , you will probably get better info from someone proficient in using one.

I love using my little wood lathe for my craft projects. Great value for the money. I am a beginner and this is working out great for me.

It is easy to set up. The saw/cut off wheel has no power to cut walnut or maple, my mighty max is better for that function. It does work for small turning projects. I made some parts for a wooden car project today and it worked pretty well. The tools it comes with are dollar store quality.
