Great instructions but…
The instructions talk of using files to straighten the edges but none of my files will make a scratch on these scrapers. I’m guessing they weren’t properly tempered so the steel remains too hard. I can still sharpen and make the burr with my diamond stone but this makes edge preparation a lot more time consuming.

Scrapers are cut precisely and straight
It takes some time to grind/sand down the surfaces to be completely smooth, but there are no bulges or dips and everything is nicely 90° (the square scrapers) and even. Scrapers feel a bit on the thicker side and don't bend much without applying force.Burnisher is not mirror shined, but I don't know if it really needs to be.

Invaluable 'final process'
It's the burr that matters. It puts a distinctive sheen in the pre-finish. The 'art' with these is in the burr set and sharpening. This set comes with a burnisher to create the burr but is missing the high carbon steel edge to turn the burr razor sharp. Practically, it's a limited use tool for me. Hardwoods only, I don't recall using them on softwood. I think there would be a risk of pulling up the grain. I use scrapers a couple of times a year for the premium finish job.The scrapers themselves are quality high carbon tool steel well suited to taking a razor edge. I like the 'bluing' finish to help prevent rust. As a note, they will rust. Keep them light machine oiled. when you're done. Was my review helpful? If so, click "Helpful" so I can know. Set of 4 Cabinet Scrapers with Burnishing Rod
I really enjoy wood working projects and believe that having the right tools always makes the job easier. I've not had a set of cabinet scrapers in the past so have little to compare this inexpensive 4 piece set with. These are made of thin, flexible blue spring steel and come with a hardened rod burnisher to touch up the scraper edges that must be honed sharp and flat. The sheet of instructions is minimal though the listing has good pictures. These are for fine finish work to remove tiny raised grain imperfections in a piece of wood for me. They're a good value. I recommend checking out some YT videos to get a better idea of proper use. I need to keep these away from moisture as I believe they would deteriorate and rust at the edges which would ruin them.I Recommend this HERMIT TOOLS Brand Cabinet Scraper Burnisher with 4 Piece Multi-Shaped Scraper Set 2 Rectangle 1 Curved (Convex and Concave) and 1 Gooseneck Scraper. Inexpensive tools but useful for detailed surface prep.I hope you’ve found the information and my review helpful.

nice starter set
This is my first card scraper and the set includes everything I would need to get started. I like that this one included the burnishing tool to dress and maintain the edge of the scrapers. It came vacuumed packed in foodsaver like bags so there is no rust on the metal. What caught my eye on this set is that it came with curved blades if you need to get into some detailed moldings. Takes a little practice to get just the right angle, pressure and motion but the results are worth it. These will take off very fine powder like shavings for a smooth surface. Also great to quickly scrape off excess glue from joints or shave off paint if you need to.

Planet of the Scrapes
As someone who sanded through every edge and through amounts of sheets I say: Scrape! Personally it opened a complete new world after I watched a furniture restoration video on Youtube. There isn't much to do wrong as a beginner. It's like shaving with a blade: Get the basic concept right, and it will save a lot of blood (and pain). The refinement comes with time. This set is good for starters and some way in into experience. It comes with instructions on to sharpen the scraper. It's okay to go easy on the sharpening them at first for rougher project. Technique comes later.I sanded off the lacquer of the sharpener's handle and wiped on linseed oil, as I always do with wooden tools. Not necessary, but a nice upgrade. So five stars from me, being at the level of woodworking where I am as a weekend warrior with thrift store project. I hope this helps to make a decision.

Not bad but some quite rough...
I do quite a bit of woodworking, so can always use tools like this. I already have a set of cabinet scrapers, so I use those as a comparison. They are blue steel just like my other set, seems like good steel. You also get a nice selection of different scrapers for different needs. Plus the burnisher, which is really necessary for this set.Only thing to me, a couple of them are quite rough, mainly the curved ones. The gooseneck one in particular is so rough, there are even points of steel sticking out in several places. It's like they cut it out and threw in in the package. Like they did not attempt to "finish" it. Will take some work to get that one in good shape. It's not a bad set, and if you are okay with doing some work on them, I would recommend.

Heavy gauge and sharp
These are great scrapers. They are thick and sharp. I use them in wood working and they will come in handy nicely.
