Great bit of kit!
Item worked great, well worth it for the money - my SNES looks great on my shiny new TV now! 👍

Perfect for UK N64
Have a UK N64 and new TV doesn't have composite RCA video input. Tried 3 other composite to HDMI adapters first, which were about half the price of this one, but 2 just gave blue screen and the other one flickered quite badly - from what I read the N64 signal at 240p is the reason. This has no issues and worked straight away (Tested with Mariokart 64) Quality looks fine to me for a retro console - potentially this 'S-Video' version is why it is better over composite signal versions. Saw the 'line doubler' version at twice the price, which might be better again, but I'm happy with this one. Nice there is no extra USB cable for power, just HDMI socket on the console now.

May not look like much but it's got it where it counts.
I had bought a different AV to HDMI converter, but saw this one which came without need for a power source (something of a rarity among AV to HDMI converters it seems). I ordered both to see which was better. Initially both presented similar quality, and issues (excessive colour shadow/blur on "highlighted" objects), albeit the Kaico did allow for a switch between 4:3 and 16:9 via the switch on the converter. However, once I restarted and opted for 50hz instead of 60hz at the initial startup screen I noticed a marked improvement. All blur and shadow was gone, there remained some mild scanlines but nothing egregious and only really bothersome if you're a foot from the TV. Overall quite pleased with the unit, particularly given it does not require the AV cable to be present, nor a dedicated power supply, which seems to be the case for many of the other options available. Admittedly the price is more than double many others, but given the cost saving over time of not needing a second active plug, I think it's worth the extra money. Also much simpler to setup with simple plug and play.

Works great, retro gaming on newer tvs
Really happy though expensive compared to Wii versions. Allows me to use my 64 on my new tv as it does not have an av connection. Relatively small and does not extend past the power supply, plug and play baby so no faffing around setting up. Allows me to retro game and will change my output from 4:3 to 16:9. Goldeneye 4 way is a dream now on newer tvs.

Works but too bright
Got this for my Gamecube. It works which is good, but like others mention it makes things too bright and doesn't look so good.

Works great on an N64
Bought this for an N64 and it works fine. Sometimes the screen doesn’t show up first time but just restarting the N64 sorts that. I tried it with a SNES and it doesn’t work on either setting so do not buy for anything other than an N64

Unable to recommend this product at all.
I had to return this, the item was unusable and when it did work, the picture quality was terrible. I would not recommend this product at all, get a bitfunxx if you want a basic option, or a proper upscaler for a better solution.

Retro gaming
I set this up for my 1990s Super Nintendo and I could not believe the quality picture I got on my modern tv , I'd have expected this quality from a higher priced product but this £20 accessory is amazing. I'm blown away , now I can play all my retro titles in full HD. I'd fully recommend to anyone one wanting to set up there retro gaming consoles.

Plug and play - Brings SNES to the modern Era
The old CRT box TV I had been using for my SNES finally gave out, so I picked this up to give it a try on an HDMI monitor. I searched for awhile for a good adapter, and chose this one based on the metal housing and no need for an additional power supply. It comes with an HDMI cable so you simply plug the adapter into your console and then the HDMI from the adapter to your display, and you're good to go. There is a little switch on it to change between "S-video" or composite output. If your console supports the S-video option, that's the way to go. There is also a tiny red indicator light that turns on when in use. I have this plugged into a 24inch monitor, and feel that the picture quality is quite good. It's definitely better than it's been when using an RCA (red white yellow cord) to HDMI adapter. I did not notice any discernible delay or anything like that, and the colors look good as well. Obviously we're not dealing with a high definition game system here so it won't look as good as SNES games on the Switch or SNES classic edition, but those are emulated and here you're still getting the original, albeit adapted, 30ish year old video signal. The adapter does not have the option to switch from 16:9 to 4:3, but most TVs do if the stretched out image bothers you. I did have a few games where the left side of the screen was slightly cut off, but I think the monitor is causing that and I will eventually have this hooked up to my living room TV. So to conclude I think this is a solid, relatively inexpensive way to play your retro Nintendo consoles on a modern display. I tested it with both an SNES and Super Famicom, and it worked good. There are cheaper options out there and MUCH more expensive ones as well, but this feels like a quality use of $30, in my opinion, and I'm happy with its function, and simple plug and play operation. I will update this review if I ever get my hands on an N64 or GameCube to test out.

Great hdmi adapter for SNES N64 etc
Using this with both a SNES and an N64. Works perfectly, it’s plug and play. Image quality is definitely better than other ones ive had in the past that connect to the wires. Highly recommended
