This was an excellent purchase, exactly what I wanted. Good quality and fits perfectly.

The biggest problems are getting the old one off and the new one on as on my mower the old one is pop riveted and if you do not have access to the correct tool you are screwed

The cord pull mechanism broke on my Briggs & Stratton powered Mountfield rotary lawn mower a couple of years ago and I can still remember all the messing around and inconvenience it caused me to find a suitable replacement. I can see that the pull cord on my mower is starting to look a bit frayed, where it has been rubbing on the side of the starter housing and that I'll be lucky if it lasts until October. So when I saw this whole starter assembly, available on Amazon I thought, why go to all the trouble of messing around taking the thing to bits and fitting a new cord (which is a much, much, trickier job than you might think BTW) When installing this whole unit is a five minute job at most and only involves the removal and refitting of 3 bolts and a little bit of wiggling to get it to locate correctly.

Good part for replacement, easy to install and work spot on
