Woods 59405 Outdoor CFL LED Light Control Socket with Photocell, Gray

If you buy these from this seller you MUST calibrate them. There are no instructions on how to calibrate them so call the 1-800 number and wait a few days for a return call and they will walk you through the process. I called the 1-800 number and had to leave a message then waited about a week before they called back, but by that time I had returned them.

This thing will not shut off a light in normal daylight conditions. If I shine a flashlight into the photocell, it turns off but not under normal daylight conditions. Don't know if it has something to do with using a fixture that has the bulb pointing down but this thing has no adjustment. I read another review where they said it did not work but thought that that person must just have got a defective unit. I now believe this product is just a very poor design and there is no way to adjust the sensitivity. Tried everything with aiming the photocell etc - Just does not work in most conditions where it should.

These sensors were for my outdoor lights but the problem with them was there design. When I screwed the sensor into the light the sensor would not be facing out to the light-most of the time no matter what light I tried it in it would be facing the brick on the house rather than the outside light so it would not sense the daylight properly.

What is there to say really. The socket sensor just works. Dusk to Dawn every day

The item does not work. The light stays on permanently. Even when using flashlight directly on photocell does not switch it off. Item arrived quickly but really disappointing that it is useless and does not work
