What a page turner!
I let you go by Clare Mackintosh was one of those books that pulls you in from the first chapter. Its an addictive and wonderfully layered thriller that is suspenseful and a satisfying psychological read. One of the best book I have read in 2016. Love the concept. This book is really a page-turner. While reading this, I smiled, I cried and at the time when I finished this book, I was emotional.I was shocked when i finished the First Chapter. Very well written. Looking forward to get a copy of "I See You". Hope that I'd like that one as well.If you guys are planning to read this, go ahead. You will love this book and enjoy it as well.

Good read
Well I'm not a 100% satisfied with the quality of the book. But based on it's content, I bought it thinking it was a really intelligent and twist filled investigation into a hit and run case but that's just a tiny part of the book and the investigation is not very detailed either. It's focus is on the life of the narrator after the hit and run. The stunning and well executed twist at the half way mark grabbed my attention (though a bit close towards the reveal I kind of had an idea about what was coming) and then it drifts a bit again and there's a couple more twists at the climax but it couldn't replicate the effect of that twist at the half way mark, much like Gone Girl.

Edge of the seat thriller
Completely thriller and engaging, the start was awesome but felt somewhat slow the end of the part 1 was an adrenaline rush. The way in which every twists revealed was really awesome.

Major let down of what could've happened to a genuinely good thriller
This was a major let down of what could've happened to a genuinely good thriller. The writing is really good for me to finish the story, but apart from that, this book was a let down.I don't know if I would've liked the book more if I had read it when it came out in 2014, but the apart from the single twist, which comes at almost halfway, I could see where this book is going. Some of the twists are pretty cliched, and seemed to be there, just for the element of shock/ surprise. The detectives were pretty useless, and considering the fact that a few of the subplots don't get resolved, this is a 2.5 rounded off to 3 for me.

Not even to see what terrible thing he has done
A very impressive psychological thriller. The story is narrated for three POVs. The main character Jenna Gray, the lead detective Inspector Ray Stevens and a man named Ian Peterson. The story begins with hit-and-run accident of a five-year-old boy Jacob on a foggy rainy day. I cringed at this moment and every moment this scene was played in the mother's memory. A five year old is hit by a fast moving car emerging suddenly from nowhere and the driver doesn't stop. Not even to see what terrible thing he has done, what has happened and to call for an ambulance. When the detective with his team comes to the accident scene all evidence have erased out due to rain. They do not have any clue to continue their investigation. Jenna's live is scattered in a split-second. The only way to re-make her world is to walk away from everything. It's more than a year and there is no progress in the hit-and-run case. Inspector Ray is forced to close this case. Jenna meets Patrick, a veterinarian. And she find little happiness for having someone who cares for her. But she doesn't want to make him so close, as she has a secret which she cannot risk.Ray with his team consisting for detective Kate and Stumpy continue working in this case un-officially.In the beginning the story is very slow. And I felt like losing interest in it. Almost 100 pages into the book and there was no twist or interesting turn. But I think that's normal as in real the police cases takes time to solve.Inspector Ray is struggling to make a balance in his professional and personal life. His wife is struggling growing up two children and the eldest son is having trouble at school. The twist comes in part two, when the police knock at Jenna's door to arrest her for hit-and-run case. The story becomes thrilling from here with all twists and turns. The story unfolds. Jenna declares herself guilty for the hit-and-run case. But Inspector Ray is suspicious. He feels there is something Jenna is hiding. There is more to her story. The case cannot be so simple. And here comes the role of Ian Peterson, the fear factor in Jenna's life. I really didn't see this coming. After all who is responsible for Jocob's accident? How is Jacob's mother related to Jenna? It's hard to believe this is Clare Mackintosh's debut novel. Anyone who loves family life, reality, detective work, mystery and psychological thrillers will love this.

Gripping and enjoyable.
Interesting story with a damn likeable protagonist.however, it has only one OMG twist which I was able to guess pretty early on in the book. Regardless, it was a very enjoyable read. Definitely recommend it.
