Good tool with maintenance
Works great awesome de soldering tool gets a little hot, but does the job works better than most expensive tools out there the best part is it’s cheap enough to where if it stops working you just throw it away but kinda expensive for what it is. Also recommend cleaning it on a regular basis keep it up maintained and Lupe the O-ring with silicone oil and wiping out the solder.

Works great at desoldering. Best thing to get other than a good motor driven one.
Neat tool, good item and works very well. I am an electronics guy and had been using a normal soldering iron in 1 hand and a desoldering pump in the other hand for decades. Never ideal, but it worked. I bought this because other reviews had recommended it to me here. I bought it, tried it, and have been using it a lot. So far, so good. It gets hot enough to melt the solder well, and having the suction in the middle of the tip works a lot better than the separate combo does. Also, since you can use this with one hand, and that includes reloading the suction spring, it frees up the other hand to hold components or whatever. Good buy, well worth it. The only thong I am concerned about is if and when the sucker gets stopped up or filled up, I don't see an easy way to take it apart and clean it.

Solid Desoldering Tool (But Don't Expect Miracles)
This YiHua desoldering iron is a pretty solid tool. It's super easy to use and heats up quickly, melting solder in a flash. The metal tip is a big improvement over those teflon ones that always seem to burn or melt. Plus, it's easy to clean and doesn't clog up easily. For it's current price point, it's a good middle-ground option between those cheap solder suckers and the pricier desoldering guns. Now, here's the thing: it works way better than those manual solder suckers, but it doesn't have the super-powerful suction I was hoping for. For components with two leads, it usually gets the solder out in one go. But sometimes it takes a few tries, even with through-hole contacts. With bigger components, like transistors or capacitors, you'll probably need to do several cycles of melting and sucking to get all the solder out. Holding it on the joint for longer helps melt the solder thoroughly, but be careful not to overheat the component. I didn't have any issues with the tip fitting over different sized leads, from tiny resistors to larger transistors and capacitors. It works best on two-lead components because the leads can move freely as the solder melts. With three-lead components, it's a bit trickier. Overall, this tool is definitely a step up from a basic solder sucker, but don't expect the same vaccum as one one a complete rework station. If you're looking for a decent, affordable desoldering tool, this one gets the job done, just be prepared to put in a bit of extra work on those stubborn joints. --- Product: YiHua 929D-V Electric Desoldering Soldering Iron Solder Sucker Desoldering Pump with Shorter Charging Handle and Desoldering Nozzles 1.0mm 1.2mm for Through-Hole Desoldering ASIN: B094ZCRXMN

Works well for PCB's with lots of pins.
My step-son's Switch controller needed a new joystick. As an amateur electronics kit builder, I figured, "no problem", but there were 14 pins needing to be un-soldered. I've used a solder-sucker before, but this looked like it might be too much work for what I had. This tool served as both the soldering iron and sucker at the same time, so no switching back-and-forth. For this reason, it would be worth the price if I expected to use it often. For me, it will probably get used only very occasionally, but it's nice to keep with the other DIY electronic tools just in case. It was easy to clean out the bits, and at came with three extra tips, though I haven't needed any others than the one installed. It had enough power to melt the solder on both sides of the PCB, and sucked it right through the hole, needing to be re-applied on only a few of the 14 pins. It's handle was very ergonomic, fitting my hand well, making it easy to de-solder and trigger the suction with one hand. The only problem that took getting used to was holding the tip against the PCB. The spring action of the piston tended to make the tip bounce off of the board, preventing the suction from working. Some careful pressure solved that problem with a few tries.

Great de-soldering iron
Works great as advertised. De-soldered two Teensy MCUs in minutes. Does take a while to warm up as the description says. No data yet on how long it lasts, but it does come with a few tips.

Desoldering tool
Received In brand new perfect condition. Very well packaged. Perfect tool for me when desoldering. All in one tool. Hopefully I won’t need it that often, but there are times you need to remove solder. Works pretty good. I know there are better tools out there. However the price is to high for as often as it’s needed. So this will do just fine.

Good desolder for thru-hole needs
Well had nothing to check for calibration however it worked well for my desoldering needs, good one hand operation.

Worth the price, better than a plain vacuum sucker, but only "good"... not great
The good: Very easy to use, heats and liquifies existing joints quickly, metal tip doesn't burn or melt like the teflon-tipped suckers, easy to clean, does not clog easily. At $40, it is priced in between expensive desoldering guns (which cost $200+) and the cheap spring-loaded "solder suckers" that can be had for $10, and it's performance and quality are appropriate for that middle price. --- The not-so-good: While this thing works much better than the unheated vacuum plunger style solder sucker, it does not have the suction I thought it would. On 2-lead through-hole components, it can usually pull all the solder out in one shot. But sometimes you need press the plunger and repeat the process. This is fully through-plated holes, I'm talking about (which everything I work on has). It just cannot draw all the solder out of the hole so that both sides of the plated hole are free of solder and the component lead is no longer stuck. On heavier 3-lead components, like a TO-220 power transistor, I had to sometimes to 5 or more cycles of pressing it firmly over the lead, letting it melt the solder, push the trigger, let it suck SOME of the solder out. Holding it over the lead for a longer time helps, because it more thoroughtly liquifies the solder all the way through the hole. But you need to keep a wet sponge or other heat sink on the compon ent if you do this or the heat will destroy it. I had no trouble getting the hole in the top to fit over all the leads I tested it on, and I did this on everything from little 1/8w through-hole resistors up to larger 3-lead power transistors, 4 amp diodes, and medium sized (2000 uF or so) electrolytic capacitors. It works much better on 2-lead components, because as soon as the solder softens, the lead tends to move toward the center of the hole, and thus when the solder is drawn out, even if it isn't perfect, it isn't stuck to the lead. On a 3-lead device, there are always 2 leads still soldered when you are opening the first hole, so nothing moves, the lead stays against the side of the hole, and any tiny dot of solder will keep it stuck there. Like I said, overall, much better than a plain unheated sucker tool, but not the powerful vacuum I was hoping for, so 4 stars is all it gets.
