CanonInk CLI-251 BKCMYGY 5 Color Pack Ink Cartridge

These things get more and more expensive. Quit gouging us Canon, and make these affordable. Having said that, print quality is good. However, there is no way a little cartridge of ink should cost so much.

I purchased this ink in March. I have done very little color printing and already the printer is indicating that the ink level is non-existent. This is the second time I have purchased this ink, and I had the same issue with the first one too. It is way too expensive to only last a couple of months with less than 20 color prints.

I'm an illustrator who, from time to time, creates inkjet prints of my work to sell or display. I recently upgraded my Epson R1900 13" wide format printer (purchased 2011) for the Canon iP8720 (purchased 2021), which uses this CLI-251 line of ink cartridges. I'm really happy with the choice, as the print quality seems just as good with the CLI-251 cartridges lasting longer (i.e., I can make more prints per each set of inks).The downside is that, as you can see in the photos, these cartridges can get very messy. I made sure to follow the instructions, removing the orange tabs and plastic wrapping and still ended up with black ink all over my finger tips. I thought it might be a fluke, but then it happened again with the yellow ink. The pictures attached are after I washed my hands with water and soap for about 5 minutes. The ink stains pretty good, as it is designed to, so I would suggest handling with a pair of gloves.

It prints the prettiest pictures in the world, and drains as if it was shot out of pneumatic cannon. Which is owed largely to the clear corporate sabotage the company Canon puts into having the printer burn off a significant amount of a container every time you look at it funny.I mean printing photos loses a lot of appeal when every time you try, you have to check your bank account first and feel bad about not being better at saving. And yet somehow they have encrypted the process so much that every other brand of ink in the world explodes all over the house and printer.

Good quality, prints nicely. Except the black which is much shinier than the other colors when printing photos. Just far too expensive & only lasts a couple of months, even with my mediocre amount of printing.
