Great slow cooker for a 3lb chicken or 3 to 4lb roast beef. Just enough room if you're only cooking the chicken or roast without any additional vegetables. Otherwise a 6 qt slow cooker would be more adequate. Cooked my chicken and roast beef perfectly. I love this cooker so much and the smaller size that I bought two of them. Would be ideal for side dishes or a fruit crisp or crumble for dessert or even rice pudding. Now I'm getting hungry!

Super bien para el propósito

Very nice.....a nice basic slow cooker. Not a giant, great for a small family. Very efficient and doesn't take up a lot of space for storage or cleaning in the dishwasher. Very thoughtfully designed handle on the lid...you can lift the lid without burning yourself on the handle.

Thanks to the other reviewers, I wasn't expecting this to look like the picture - and the one they sent me doesn't. Instead of the black plastic cradle and white finish mine has a stainless finish and black plastic handles: cosmetics are in fact exactly like the Hamilton Beach 5 Quart Classic Chrome cooker that Amazon sells for about $10 more. Nobody in my household is particularly bothered about the look - the stainless is actually pretty classy, but about the (relatively low) heft and apparent quality you'd expect from an appliance that costs under $30. We've been using this thing nonstop since it arrived (3 days faster than Amazon reported it would when we checked out!) and it works exactly as it should. I've worked with slow cookers before where the high temp was just a little too hot and you'd end up with actual burned on food around the rim - no such problems with this one so far, and the "warm" setting has also proved effective at holding the temperature for a couple of hours after cooking without turning beans to complete mush. Size is great for a couple or small family; my only caveat is that most of the slow-cooker recipes you'll find are tuned to a 5 quart cooker, so you'll have to get creative with division if you want to max out the capacity of this 4 quart size. My girlfriend and I usually have about 4 cups/1 liter of leftovers when it's just the two of us (bear in mind that recipes filling the 4 liter capacity will cook down to roughly 2-2.5 liters most of the time), and had exactly enough daal for four when we had friends over the other night. If you don't feel the need for automation and don't need a larger size, this model seems like a great value for the price.
