Interesting and super engaging
This story draws in the reader from the first page itself. The adventure that Adelaide goes through is super dangerous but thrilling. I loved the chemistry that starts building between Clark and Adelaide. Their relationship sometimes seems like the relationship between cat and mouse. There exists a lot of intensity in that relationship. The multiple twists and turns drew me into this world. The world building was amazing. However, I felt that this story was more of an adventure than romance. And the romance element was not that satisfactory for me. I love a good enemies to lovers story but this story just had a hint of the same. All in all, the story is super engaging and the adventure is epic.

Got me wanting more
Dang, almost like a serial. Great story. Great characters. Now to find and read the next one. Looking forward to it.

Fantastic
What a great book to begin a set! I love all of the characters... they all seem to work really well together and the way the story is written leaves you hoping things will work out they way you REALLY want them to!I am looking forward to jumping straight into book 2 to find out what is going to happen next for the group and how everything will pan out next. Thank you for a fantastic read!

Great Start!
I love their fantasy series, so I wanted to give this one a try. Not a huge fan of steampunk, so if that is your cup of tea, you found a book for you! But I AM a fan of well drawn characters and interesting story telling, and that’s here in spades.

Awesome!
I love every book Robin Mahle writes. Her stories are full of adventure and complex characters. I can never put them down and this one was no exception!

Story is good but
The story or plot was interesting but something was lacking. I'm not exactly sure what bothered me about it but I found myself getting bored and frustrated so I would set ot aside and come back to it later.Maybe the main female character had no personality whatsoever. She seemed almost robotic in her thoughts and was unlikable. The other characters carried the story. They had a lot more personality. The back and forth timeline also drove me bonkers since I had already read the prequel and it was just repeating it.I think I'm going to try to read the next book despite my gripes.
