It's okay as is, but where this really shines is in two pieces. I took off the raccoon tail to use as a kicker toy (though it disappeared, and I'm not sure where) and use the fishing-pole-like handle with a small, light octopus toy rather than the heavy tail. My kitten is obsessed.

My puppy really loves this - we do try to keep out of range of the cat to avoid confusion. The wand broke in 5 min. I would have paid a bit more for a better wand.

The fur attachment makes a good dog toy when not attached to the very flimsy wand. Just throw the attachment or play tug instead. (Note: cats might be afraid of it - it's too big to be a cat toy.)The wand is very brittle and can't support the weight of the attachment without inevitably breaking. Not to mention, one tug from a dog would snap the wand anyway. Even a chihuahua could easily break it.If you own a cat, you can use the wand with no attachment. Most cats will chase the metal clip on the end of the fishing line which is bug-like.I'm giving this product a low rating however, since it's advertised as a wand toy for dogs and yet can't be used in that fashion.
