Perfect for me…
I drink tea the way most people drink coffee. And not in a tiny teacup. This pot is marvelous - perfect size to brew four cups (1l) of my morning tea.I brew with measured temp filtered water in an electric water pot and steep four tsp of leaf tea for time specified for the variety. Five minutes for my Scottish Breakfast. The strainer is excellent depth an fine enough to hold even tiny leaves.I’ve used it for white, green, oolong, red, black, and herbal - all perfect. What I love: the volume is perfect for 4-6 real cups. The spout doesn’t dribble. The hand is sturdy and doesn’t get my hand close enough to scorch. The strainer comes out easily but the lid can remain on the pot. The strainer is stainless and plenty fine filter. It’s clear glass, I can see the brew strength. What I don’t love: it’s heavy when filled. It is glass. Like a lab beaker. It will likely break if dropped and shatter into shards. So will clay, porcelain, or China - but it’s not super thin glass and it’s heat rated like Pyrex.Perfect for 500-1000ml with loose tea when you have guests over…

Good and functional for a couple
One can boil water in it. Just do it on medium heat setting or slight less than medium to keep it from cracking. It does take a few minutes, though, for it to start boiling. Personally, I prefer to use it to serve juice or pre-prepared herb tea/herbalized regular tea (e.g., tea bags boiled with fennel seed, cardamon seeds, cinnamon sticks, anise, oregano, etc.). I usually boil tea water in a different pot, let it cool down, and then pour it into this jar. But I fill the jar only two-thirds full to avoid stressing its handle and then place it in the fridge before serving. For such purposes, I love using nice glass jars like this one instead of plastic ones. This jar is very easy to clean and feel strong enough for daily use as long as one does not drop it or bang it against hard objects. The included tea infuser is deep enough to almost touch its interior bottom if one prefers to use it.

Good teapot
I really like this teapot. I’m easy to use and is perfect to make a large amount of tea. I usually boil water and pour it into the teapot and steep that way. But today I tried it on the gas stove. I didn’t let the flame touch the glass or get too close but it worked well for brewing my light jasmine tea.
