TechNiche International Evaporative Cooling Ranger Boonie Hat, Large/X-Large, Khaki

I use this while I'm working outdoors. Works great for what it is, but you have to realise that it has its limitations. I tend to re-immerse this in cold water every 1-3 hours as needed. It works quite well for me as I'm out in the desert all day. does the normal hat stuff of keeping your head a bit better shaded without the downside of roasting the top of your noggin (and actually making it cooler).Couple more side notes: I could see how the "damp" feeling of it could be uncomfortable to some, but I value being cool. I find it works best if I remove it and let the inner lining get air every so often... Some of the reviews complained about it being heavy, but I think maybe they forgot to wring out the excess water? Doesn't need to be saturated.All in all, it does what I would expect.

This product DOES NOT WORK! I have experienced more comfort from a traditional broad brim had with mesh crown, than I did with this. The only aspect of cooling experienced was the cool moisture that came in direct contact with the top of my head! When fully saturated with water, it is heavy, and actually INCREASED discomfort with heat, to the extent that I would remove it so I could take advantage of the occasional breeze! DO NOT BUY THIS HAT!

Probably wouldn't have bought if I'd seen it first. If I get stuck in the sun on a roof or a desert, I'll use it , though! On the plus side, good sun protection and modest clammy cooling that lasts quite a while. The downside is that it weighs a full pound after an hour of wear, feels pretty tight on my L head(but it doesn't slip!), and of course the dork factor. I think a cooling towel is more practical, under a regular hat or around the neck.

bought this for my husband. He loves it !SIZING Tips:S/M fits children and petite women. L/XL fits small to average adults. 2X/3X fits adults with larger heads.Manufacturer's Sizing: S/M - 21 1/2" - 22 1/4", L/XL: 22 1/2 - 23 3/8", 2X/3X: 23 3/4" - 24 3/8".These measurements are when the hat is dry. When hat is wet ...it expands. We have found that you probably should take the larger size

Fits well, comfortable. Good replacement for my worn-out boonie hat. Looking forward to wearing it on my next trip to the South Pacific in search of Amelia Earhart.

Hat seems good; size not accurate. According to seller's info my measurement should be large/xtra large, but hat is too big. Now I have to pay nearly $7 to make an exchange!?? Not glad.
