Adapts Dyson DC-17 attachments to a Shark Apex vacuum
I have a dead Dyson DC-17 Animal, this adapter allows the attachments from that vacuum to be used with my new Shark Apex. Tight fit, no loss of suction. Thick plastic, I expect it will last a long time.

Measure once . . . order once
Sadly, measuring prior to ordering, does not insure the correct fit. I tried and did. However, I was able to use this adapter by securing one end with product tape. Item is very sturdy. I do recommend this item, but measure items to be connected first.

I am giving this adapter a one star because it does not fit my shark vacuum which is a shark rotator pro lift away NV501. I originally wanted to get this because I had previously bought a vacuum brush attachment because I heard it was good for cleaning the floors specifically if you have pets. Unfortunately I will not be able to find out since the brush that I purchased did not fit my Shark vacuum and this attachment I also purchase to make that brush fit also does not fit. It really is a shame because I really wanted to use that floor brush.

not a universal
when I got this I thought there where 3 seperate pieces that could be used to hook up various things. In fact it is one piece and unless you need 40 to 32 mm you will have to cut one end off or another. As I needed 35-32 mm to go from bissell to standard 32mm I will have to cut off the 40mm portion. Hopefully won't damage in the process. Then if I need the 40 mm on anything such as a shark I will have to purchase another adapter for that. Not well thought out.

ADAPTING THE ADAPTER FOR DYSON DC26
I bought a wider floor brush for my Dyson model DC26 multi-floor vacuum but needed an adapter for the required 1 1/4 to 1 3/8ths to make it fit the Dyson hose fitting. This adapter's middle and narrower end were just right. I sawed off the wider end at the transition and discarded it. The two step narrow to middle is perfect. I Gorilla glued the narrow end to the floor brush and now I am a happy camper. Thank You for this adapter

Does not fit my new Shark
Even after measuring my new Shark's pipe this adapter doesn't work. So it needs to go back.This is really Shark's fault for not using the same sized pipe as every other manufacturer out there. This is absurd.

Ugh. I thought I measured appropriately. I was wrong.
I was hoping to use this to connect my new horsehair brush with my Miele vacuum. Wrong! It's a no-go.
