Very easy to install in our CDW-7900. Has worked great so far and don’t expect any issues.

I'm impressed at how easy it is to replace this part. The instructions are clear and precise, there is even a YouTube video. The only issue I had was where you are supposed to reset the usage count for the drums, the menu in the machine does not match what they tell you to expect in the manual that comes with the unit. A relatively quick call to a very helpful Brother tech resolved it for me. Since this was for a printer that we expect to last years and years, it is nice to be able to fix a problem so easily. (BTW, DO buy the addition warrantee when you buy an expensive printer. Well worth the cost.)

SO ... I bought this drum unit as a last resort. I have had a MFC 9460CDN since they first came out about 10 years ago.. Use it everyday! I switched printer cartridge's to save money ... and well somewhere along the way a part... (a really small part) in the original broke rendering the printer useless. In a panic I ordered a newer version of the printer MFC-3710... which took a few days to get delivered. In the meantime I started to play around with the old printer and found the broken piece (in the Drum) well consider they no longer make the 9460 finding parts was close to impossible until I stumbled across this company! I ordered the new drum and with in a day I had the new part and the printer was up and running better than before... The only problem I now have a new printer (MFC-3710) that is still in the box... NOW WHAT?

I do allot of printing with my brother printer so normally i change allot of drum unit. This unit work supper fine for me and i allways buy, this is my forth one so far and will be more. Only thing it has a limit to how many pages it can print and with it meets that limit it stops and say part need to replace.

On some of the MFC-940CDN models, option 4 on the reset menu does not exist.There is a second reset known as the "9 & 3" reset, however, it only works in certain circumstances.1. Make sure the printer is in the "Home Screen" it should say sleep, and the Copy counter is set to 01. If the number of copies is not 01, this will not work! (See first picture)Press buttons 3 and 9 together and hold for 2 seconds, and the reset screen should appear. If the copy counter changes to 3 or 9, it did not work, so press clear and try again. Timing is really tricky on this but eventually you will get it to work.

Saying I love it sounds weird, it's a great machine I use it for and it said it needed the drum. Why did it need the drum? I don't know. But to keep the nice machine happy, it got one. Obviously this is the Brother brand, so you get what you ask for. Just make sure you buy it for the correct model. Would buy again when needed. Better price than a name brand supply store.

As an original component, this part slips perfectly and easily into its bay inside the printer. This Broter printer is extremely reliable. In 4 years of service it has never miss-fed a paper sheet. Naturally, the printer stopped alarming: "replace the drum" and returned to normal operation . On the negative side: this component is rather expensive. Moreover, the printer demanded the drum's replacement though the printed pages quantity has not reached the regular replacement volume.

Weird. For 25 000 pages, but I reset it, and after 33 000 pages it still prints alright. We have not notice a decrease in print quality yet! Maybe because we print mostly texts and excel tables, but it is nice as it lasts a lot longer than expected. Same for the toner (TN315), they are supposed to last 6 000 pages, but got them around 10 000 pages before a decrease in quality.I'm very satisfied with brother products since I know how to reset all the components. It's not very positive in my opinion that the printer forces to change the toner/drum when it reaches 0%, but fortunately it is possible to reset despite NOT being user friendly.

installed it myself in minutes, even if it was my first time. Allowing me to keep the BEST printer I EVER had going for a long time.Some say they're more expensive to run, but this powerhouse is totally dependable ever since I got it. My old drum was damaged a bit mid-25,000 copies but kept on trucking all the way to the normal time due for its replacement. Delivery was swift and packing was perfect...100% satisfied!
