Great Quality
I ordered this Proto 3/8" socket set to go along with some vintage 3/8" Proto ratchets and some misellaneous vintage Proto sockets that I had inherited 30 years ago, that were from the 1950s and 1960s, from my heavy equipment mechanic ancestors. I couldn't believe that I could get some "new" sockets that had the same style stamping on them as my old partial set did! Well, when I received the sockets I was disappointed, only because this set has much larger laser-engraved numbers on them; not the older style small imprinting that the photo on Amazon depicted, and that I was really looking forward to receiving. Now, for my old eyes, that's a good thing; but to match my other sockets, not so good. But then the 1" size socket had the small number imprinting on it, that I'm so used to. So I don't really think this is a complaint, as much as it is a sentimental preference on my part. But it should be said, also, that the fit and finish on the socket set I received was impeccable! Proto quality at its finest. And the price was unbelievably low, in my opinion, for a USA made set of sockets. The only other oddity in my set that I received was that I was sent a socket rail for 1/2" sockets, not 3/8" sockets.
