Great HDMI switch with great functionality and no loss in audio/video!
I don't usually write reviews but felt I should for this one because for stuff like this, you're never really sure if something is going to be promising enough. I was doing research on different HDMI switch boxes and eventually decided on this one. Seemed to have the least amount of issues if any at all and seemed to work with mostly everything. It's currently just hooked up from the Roku to the TV and audio being sent to a BOSE receiver via the RCA cables from the HDMI Switch. So far, everything seems to work smoothly with no issues with the remote at all. The picture on the TV looks just the same as it did before and no loss of audio at all. The HDMI Switch outputs the audio to the BOSE receiver just fine and sounds perfect!!! It's a pretty simple setup, but gets the job done with no complaints so far. Also the lights on the box aren't overly bright. I especially appreciate that they didn't use any blue lights on the box because blue lights on these kind of things are always the worst. I also love that it's not too big either so that it doesn't take up too much space within your setup. Overall, I would highly recommend this switch because so far, it seems to work flawlessly with no loss of quality in audio/video anywhere along the way. If you've been doing research like me and you're now reading this review, stop waiting and buy this one. I'm very cautious when buying stuff like this because even at this price, you still don't want to be just throwing your money away or having to take time to get your money back from a defective product and doing a return. Go ahead and buy this switch now!

There is a learning curve of your not up on old and new TV entertainment components! LOVE THIS BOX!
While there is a bit of a learning curve because of all the settings available on this device, I could not be happier with the results! It had allowed me to integrate all my older equipment with the newest fangle gadgets available today! I hooked up everything when the box arrived and... Nothing worked... Haha it was my fault as I hurried to get it all connected. I made several mistakes which cost me a lot of time. There are several settings on this Box that you must understand in order to get it working properly however once you understand the settings, it's very easy to hook everything up properly and the quality of the picture is OUTSTANDING! I am in love with my 65in HD TV again! I connected my ATT cable box, my 5.1 surround sound stereo, the Roku, the Xbox and Google Chrome TV stick AND, my Bluray DVD player all through an additional powered HD switch box. The picture as stated is PERFECT AMAZING HD! I am truly amazed how great the picture is now, comparatively speaking! Because I wasn't able to get audio through all of the devices through a switch Box to work properly, I was able to run all the audio, through this box and it works great! Solved all of my HDMI cable, RCA and Digital Fiber Optic cable sound issues! LOVE this box! Worth every damn penny and solved most, if not all of my audio connection issues in one way or another! 5 stars and well deserved! Occasionly if one of the hardware boxes or TV, "times out", from sitting unused for to long, it takes a little monkying and switching, to get the sound back but eventually with enough messing around I figured out in a minute or 2. Just FYI. It's not the box. It's the video component which is the culprit generally. Switching from one component to another and then back to the original one you're trying to get working usually fixes the audio problem... if you're going directly out to a television or surround stereo system I mean. Again, this box works great but you do have to know which connections to use with which equipment. If it doesnt work, try a different type of connector if possible. Love this box! Its fantastic!

A nice little switch box
This unit is a 3-to-1 HDMI switch. It auto-senses which port is active (in the case of the other two inputs being turned off) and will automatically select on in Auto mode. You can turn off Auto mode if you don't like that. All the functionality of the remote is duplicated on the front panel, so you can still control it if you lose the remote. My only big complaint is that pressing any button, even audio options, disconnects and re-connects the HDMI connection so your screen goes blank for a few seconds. Even if you don't change the input but just pick a different audio setting, it still does this. Maybe there's no way around it, but it feels clumsy. The settings you pick are retained when power is off and even when power is disconnected which is nice. The remote works well and is responsive. Build quality seems good, it's a metal box and the buttons are nice and clicky on the front panel. I can't speak to the analog audio quality but the TOSLINK output sounds just great. Overall it works well and does what it claims to do. This was a convenient way to not only get multiple devices connected to a TV with one HDMI input, but to also strip out the audio to run to a sound bar.

Bought for TOSLink Audio - Like it as a switcher too
The first one worked from the front panel but the IR remote did not have an effect. Amazon sent a replacement and the original remote worked when the new box was hooked up (proving that the problem was in the box itself). I like that it has buttons on the front as well as a remote control, multiple audio modes that are selectable - incl' "Auto and Pass". Auto seems to work. Different programs call different audio setups from my home theater; including Dolby 5.1... I bought it originally because the HDMI audio from a 4K AppleTV was causing periodic silences on my Sony home theater amplifier. Every 5 ~ 20 minutes the sound would cut out for up to a second and a half or so... Since I was feeding the home theater amp through the TOSLink in the back of the older Panasonic TV, I thought I'd try a different audio path. This switch allows me to completely bypass the TV set for audio, so I do not even use the ARC channel and therefore cannot review it... Result: Perfect audio so far. No more stutters. Video just fine. I am also no longer switching audio or video through the TV; just feeding all 3 sources (AppleTV, Dish box, and HDMI for laptop or tablet) to the switcher... All perfect, so far. - - - - - - - - - - Update: New wrinkle... The little remote was misplaced. The unit still works like a charm, from the front panel. Keeping the 5 stars because I am still pleased. Yet I don't know to go about replacing the remote. I think my plan will be to buy another, use a "Learner" to capture the remote codes and try to wrangle the whole home entertainment system under the roof of one remote anyway.... My partner has been unhappy with the proliferation of remotes.

Works better than other units we tried, and the seller actually supports defective units!
We had issues with our projector heavily processing audio from an HDMI source, so we tried some HDMI audio extractors. One model we tried would restart every 20-30 minutes, so we would lose audio and video for 10 seconds. Another model flickered non stop, and had poor audio quality. This one was GREAT! We used it heavily for 5 months, and one day it just stopped outputting audio. I messaged the seller, and they shipped a replacement unit with no questions asked! I totally expected to have to buy another unit, but them standing behind their product failure is very commendable. We've watched at least 200 hours of TV and movies using this unit, and it sounds and looks just as good as if we were plugged directly into the source. I'm so glad we were able to find this unit, and so happy that they chose to replace it after it failed after 5 months! Pros: 3 port switch Metal Housing improves durability and heat dissipation Much better audio processing than the projector and other HDMI extractors. SPDIF Output Remote for switching between our Roku and PS4 Good support Cons: Larger footprint than others I tried, but kind of necessary to fit the connectors and have clearance for chonky HDMI connectors. Still fits on our minimalist shelf for our projector setup (pictured) Lights stay on all the time (electrical tape fixes this) Documentation is pretty bad if we're being honest

Works alright with some quirks. Doesn't remember the last settings and input if power goes out.
The switch works alright but doesn't remember the last settings if power goes out. Also after power goes out some devices need powered on again before the switch will recognize them and video will work properly. It never does auto switching when other devices are off and a new one is powered on for any devices that we have used with it. PS3, Raspberry Pi, Blue Ray DVD players, etc. To switch inputs requires using remote or press the buttons on the unit. It is a nice heavy quality switch by looks with a decent remote. But unfortunately, it didn't function as expected. Gets the job done... but would probably buy something different in the future due to some of the quirks with this item.

Works flawlessly, easy set-up
I bought this device because I needed a workaround to send Dolby surround signals via optical cable to my Sonos wireless surround system's Playbase. For some reason I cannot fathom, the otherwise excellent Sonos Playbase lacks an HDMI input. Sonos expects you to connect the playbase directly to your TV via optical cable. Unfortunately, most TVs' optical outputs, including our Samsung's, do not support 5.1 surround sound, only stereo. Having spent nearly $1,700 on the Sonos surround system, I was desperate to find an alternative to the TV's audio-challenged optical output. This very reasonably priced iArk box was the answer. Its three HDMI inputs were sufficient to handle outputs from our X1 cable box, Roku streaming box, and DVD player. The iArk passes the video signals from those three components on to the Samsung via a single HDMI cable. Meanwhile the iArk strips out the audio and sends it to the Playbase and the Sonos system via an optical ("Toslink") cable. I now get true surround sound from the cable box and DVD player. Streaming audio is another story. Setup is ridiculously simple, just plug everything in and go. And I can control the whole set-up through my Logitech universal remote. Streaming's surround audio format is something called Dolby+, which is not supported over optical cable, so the best the Sonos system can do with it is to simulate a surround experience. (Sonos really needs to include an HDMI input in their Playbase's next iteration, but that's another story.)

Interoperability is not a strong feature
stupid thing. it works well on its own but cannot be integrated into the logitech harmony macros. i had to get the macro remote because my wife can’t remember what to set the various components to for different viewing options. I was not able to find an identified model number on the device (just see the photos in amazon’s listing above) and whatever I typed, logitech said it was not valid. Not to be outsmarted, i manually set it up in logitech using the “learn” feature and the iark remote. It was successfully learned, but the box refuses to respond, whether the remote is 2” or 2’ away and regardless of the angle. Looks like all i will be able to use it for is to split the audio out of one input and will have to use the tv to switch inputs. what a waste when i could have bought just a splitter. if this worked properly with the remote and actually had an identifiable model number, it would have been a great solution. if you are trying to solve the same problems as i was, you’ll want to look elsewhere. i rated one star because of all the aggravation i feel now. maybe i’ll come back after getting over it and raise the stars?

HDMI, optical or RCA converter.
My components were not compatible as they were. JVC 5.1 surround sound amp but optical, an HD satellite receiver with HDMI, an HD projector with HDMI. Worked seamlessly, easy to setup, and good support. Good price.
