Xiaomi Mi Computer Monitor Light Bar - Easy Installation, Extra Computer Lighting w/o Taking Desktop Space, w/Wireless Remote Control Adjusting Lights Easily

This is a quality of life improvement I did not know I needed. I wanted a desk lamp that I could use to illuminate the center of my desk, but I didn't want to take up limited desk real estate. In my search for a lamp with a minimal footprint, I discovered the growing popularity of monitor mounted lamps and saw this one regularly featured for its quality compared to other far more expensive lights. I can understand why so many recommended it. The material quality is excellent, the clamp is surprisingly hefty, the materials are primarily metal, and the design is very clean. It doesn't feature an uplight for bias lighting, but I'd rather have a dedicated light for that purpose. I'm not concerned about the lack of RGB lighting, as I was interested in reducing eye strain and illuminating my desk, which the bi-color lighting serves perfectly. The range of brightness is excellent as well, I have no problems using it at night or during the day. The one con I've identified so far is that the control dial, while very responsive, is too sensitive. There are low resistance detents that provide tactile feedback when you rotate the dial. Ideally the brightness should change only when you've passed a detent, as their entire purpose is to be a form of tactile feedback that registers you've made an adjustment. Unfortunately the sensor detects the slight play between detents, making the haptic feedback superfluous and the brightness control somewhat erratic. Simply wiggling the dial slightly without ever passing a detent causes the brightness to jump up and down until it reaches either max or minimum brightness. If I'm trying to make a fine adjustment of one brightness level, the lamp will often suddenly increase or decrease an extra level than intended. It is also frustrating when having to combine this with pressing the dial to change the color temperature and having the temperature get warmer or colder in increments you did not intend. It's not such a huge issue that I have any regrets. I still fully recommend this lamp, I just hope they address this problem in any future revisions.

After a full year of using the Xiaomi Mi Computer Monitor Light Bar, I can confidently say it’s one of the best upgrades I’ve made to my desk setup. The lighting is extremely comfortable on the eyes, especially during long work sessions at night. Since it mounts on top of the monitor and shines directly onto the desk, it lights up the workspace perfectly without causing glare on the screen. That small design choice makes a big difference when you spend hours in front of a computer. A nice bonus I discovered is that because of the magnetic clips, my OBSBOT Meet SE 1080P 100FPS webcam clicks perfectly on top of the light bar without needing the included mount. It actually makes the camera placement even cleaner and keeps my monitor setup looking minimal.

I've been working from home for 10+ years and I've recently taken interest in a minimalist desk setup. A more expensive brand of light kept coming up on popular influencer's blogs and videos but I just couldn't fathom spending that much on a lamp. I'm happy to report that this Xiaomi light exceeds my expectations for the price point. It's well built, feels premium, and works brilliantly (no pun intended). I appreciate that the wireless remote is included as I find it frustrating that competitors make you purchase one separately. Naturally I have some hesitation about buying products from lesser known manufacturers, but in this case I'm extremely satisfied and glad I bought this light. I titled this review as a life changer because it really has made an improvement on my desk setup and fatigue looking at my monitor 10+ hours a day. I had a desk lamp before which didn't illuminate my desk very well, was a nuisance in my periphery, and cluttered my desk space. The light bar has made a difference because it draws my attention and focus to just my monitor. If you're on the fence about which light bar to go with, I highly recommend this one. It's well priced, great quality, and easy to use right out of the box.

💡 1.5 years later | Review of the Xiaomi Monitor Light Bar I am SO bummed because I LOVE this light bar. The quality is there and I love the feel of the materials used in its construction. The remote puck is so satisfying to use because of the soft-to-touch feel and the light is extremely bright. I also love the precision of the dimming feature... HOWEVER... ❗️...if you intend to prop this light bar on top of a monitor that is mounted on an adjustable monitor arm, the light bar will likely tilt over. ❗️ I know this is common sense because the light bar itself isn't mounted on the monitor and stays on by weight, but I actually didn't consider my adjustable monitor arm when I purchased this light bar. I regret not having considered that use case. So now, I have to be extra mindful of how fast I maneuver my monitor so the light doesn't fall off. The quality still stands 1.5 years after purchase and I've never had any issues with the light flickering or not working. I've also never had to change the puck remote's battery since purchasing. Also, even with maneuvering my monitor it has never completely fallen off and only tilts over (see photo), which is pretty good for a light bar that's not mounted, imo. The weight on the light bar is pretty reliable considering all the ways I've moved my monitor. The tilting gives me a mini heart attack every time I maneuver, and imo, if this were a PERFECT 5-star/no flaws product, it would stay put. 😮‍💨 Also a caveat: I do have a webcam velcroed to the center part of the light bar, so that could also contribute to the tilting. To Xiaomi - Please consider making a desk lamp/light bar that mounts to the desk using the same materials (or better). ---------------------------- TLDR; Light bar tilts on monitors mounted to adjustable monitor arms. No adjustable monitor arm? No problem! Light bar is made of high quality materials.

This light is really great. Perfect for lighting my work area. I had used a variety of desk lamps and always had a problem with angle or glare in my eyes. This light provides easily adjustable lighting exactly where I need it, with no glare. Set up was easy (remember to batteries in the remote!) and configuration and adjustment are a breeze.

I was researching vigorously on whether to purchase this Xiaomi Light Bar or the BenQ Halo Light bar. I believe the difference in price between the two units is about $100, with the Xiaomi being the more affordable option. I'll admit, I was wowed by all the bells and whistles that the BenQ Halo had to offer, but I'd figure I'd try the Xiaomi Lightbar first. And if I didn't like it, I'd just give it to my sister. But it turns out I really like this light bar. It's really the lack of bells and whistles that make me like this product so much. It's a very straight-forward product. I won't describe it here, but everything that it does, it does well enough. It's bright enough for my needs, when working late at night, and the color temperatures are sufficient as well. I don't need it to have crazy colors or blinking lights; I just need a cooler tone for the day, and a warmer tone for the evening. The wireless remote for the unit is cool, but a little flimsy. It's a matte black dial, with no etchings or descriptors on it, which fits the aesthetic of my desk. So that's a plus. When actually using it though, the dial feels flimsy, like the disk is about to unscrew itself. You press-in to turn the light bar on or off, but sometimes it doesn't register my press, which can be annoying. The one thing that I do like on the BenQ Halo is that there is an attachment that you can purchase that sits on the top of the light bar mount to hang your webcam off of. My webcam doesn't seem to want to work with my haphazard rigging onto the light bar, so it's off to the side, which isn't a great angle. Oh well. Overall, I really liked that I went with this Xiaomi light bar as opposed to the BenQ Halo light bar. I realized that I don't really need all the bells and whistles that the Halo offers, and that this Xiaomi bar is the best of the budget group. Besides the wireless remote, I haven't had much problems with this product. It tells me that sometimes all the bells and whistles of a product can get in the way of what you simply need sometimes.

Beware. As many other reviews have pointed out, this light works ok for a while, but the wireless remote puck stopped working for me after a few months. I've tried replacing the batteries, and repairing to the lights, but still does not work. There is no power button on the light itself, so the only way to turn it off is by unplugging it. Without the remote, the color temperature also defaults to harsh blue tint, rather than the warm light I had it set at. The "product support" is non-existent and seems impossible to buy just a replacement remote.

Ich habe mir die Lampe besorgt um etwas mehr Licht an meinem Arbeitsplatz zu bekommen. Durch den 49 Zoll Bildschirm ist der Platz am Tisch an dem eine Lampe stehen kann, die gleichzeitig den Tisch gut ausleuchtet, begrenzt. Vor der Bestellung habe ich mir ein paar Vergleiche unterschiedlicher Hersteller angesehen. Aufgrund des Preises und der gelobten Qualität in zahlreichen Reviews habe ich mich für dieses Produkt entschieden. Sorgen hatte ich bezüglich folgender Punkte: - Kompatibilität mit einem sehr dünnen curved Bildschirm - Anstrahlen des Bildschirms Als das Paket ankam stellte sich mir zuerst mal die Frage, ob das Produkt schonmal geöffnet wurde. Für das Verschließen des Pakets wurde braunes Klebeband verwendet. Das Durchsichtige runde Klebeband zum Verschließen war aber in Takt also nehme ich nicht an, das es sich hier um eine Rücksendung handelt. Zur Qualität: Das Produkt fühlt sich sehr wertig an. Der Regler für Helligkeit/Lichttemperatur lässt sich gut drehen und klicken. Die Lampe reagiert sofort auf die Eingabe. Die Haptik passt. Montage: Montiert ist das Ganze sehr schnell. Mit einem Gegengewicht, wie man das auch von Webcams kennt, wird die Lampe am oberen Bildschirmrand montiert. Das funktioniert zwar auch bei dünnen Bildschirmen, hier muss man sich aber etwas länger der Feinjustierung widmen. Leuchtbild: Mit dieser Lampe ist mein kompletter Tisch sehr gut ausgeleuchtet. Was jedoch auffällt ist, dass ein Teil des Monitors auch angestrahlt wird. Für mich aber nicht wirklich störend. In den Bildern sieht man es leicht bei schwarzem Hintergrund. Alles in allem echt ein super Produkt, vor allem für den Preis! Auch das einfache Dimmen und Ändern der Farbtemperatur ist sehr gut. Ich werde mir auf jeden Fall eine zweite für meinen anderen Arbeitsplatz besorgen.

Uso la Xiaomi Mi Computer Monitor Light Bar da ormai qualche anno (dal 2023) e ne sono davvero soddisfatto. Si appoggia facilmente sopra il monitor e illumina molto bene senza creare riflessi sullo schermo, il che è fondamentale per non affaticare gli occhi. La cosa che adoro di più è il telecomando wireless: è comodissimo poter regolare sia l’intensità della luce che la temperatura colore senza dover toccare la lampada. È davvero una chicca per chi passa molte ore davanti al PC. La qualità costruttiva è molto buona, la lampada è ben rifinita e stabile. Consiglio questa light bar a chi vuole una soluzione semplice ma efficace per migliorare l’illuminazione sulla scrivania senza ingombri.
