Negative Review
I almost did not buy this because of a few negative reviews. I don't know how long it will last, because I just installed, but as of now, I am beyond happy. I love my chair, but it would not hold my fat butt. :)I was just about to buy a new one (and this one is not that old), when I found out about this. It has save me a lot of money. The sleeves were easy to install and they had grooves to fit the metal ring clamps. The provided screwdriver worked well on the clamps. I only needed 3 sleeves, so I have 2 more for down the road. Hopefully I want need them as it says will handle 1000 lbs and while I am heavy, not even close to that.So in conclusion, I am very glad I purchased these.

Very useful!
First of all, this product could be easily replicated by anyone with the right diameter PVC pipe, a saw, and the right clamps. But this is a very attractive option with nicer fitting plastic bits, all for not very much money.Does it work? Yes. Very well. I highly recommend this (or similar) to save money on replacing otherwise good office chairs. Or keep this idea to yourself, and take home great chairs that your office is disposing of because the cylinders are bad. :)Edit: Based on other reviews, I do want to add that there's a reason this set comes with 5 plastic risers and 10 clamps. The compressive strength of the plastic is more than adequate but it has to be kept from buckling. That means using TWO clamps for each riser. I mean there are two specifically designed channels in each riser to keep them in place. Seem like it should be obvious but it isn't, I guess?

Cheap product but works
The components are SUPER cheap. I bet they cost less than $1 to manufacture. So, for ~$13, it's bad value for money. To illustrate, the kit comes with a screw driver, but it's made of such cheap, soft metal that it slips on every other turn and is effectively useless (see photo of the worn-out tip). So you HAVE to use your own standard-quality phillips head to get this to work.Having said that, the kit DOES work (after all its just rubber and metal clamps), and it does seem like the cheapest solution to a broken office chair out there, so I feel like I have to give it 3 stars just for "being there"; I might have given it 4 stars on a different day.

Chair Saved
Easy for even someone who is not handy. I was skeptical about "no tool needed"... but no tool needed and... easy and sturdy after 2 weeks. Chair simply stays at the height I want.

Some of the pictures lead to confusion
I think that this product works well but found some of the pictures promoting the product to be confusing. It looked to me like one of the plastic spacers needed to be attached tightly enough to prevent the rod holding the chair from sliding down. Under those conditions, the plastic spacer would have to be attached very tightly. However, as I think it has been mentioned in previous reviews, the spacers are intended to be stacked (see attached photo). Under these conditions, they do not have to be attached very tightly. One can simply snug the clamps up until they hold the plastic spacers in place. In my case, two of the spacers were exactly the right right height to hold the chair where I wanted it to be. I could have gone to the hardware store to purchase parts that would do the same thing, but this was a lot easier.

Height wrong; Thin flimsy plastic; Hose clamps don't work
Problem 1: The height of the three pieces added together was slightly too high to fit the length I needed, so my option was going to be to use only two pieces, which would leave my chair sitting lower than desired.Problem 2: The plastic pieces are extremely thin, and I was skeptical that one would provide a thick or sturdy enough foundation to hold another on top of it once the weight of a person was applied to the chair. I predicted the plastic would crack/break or the upper would slip off the lower. However, I never got to test it out due to the third problem....Problem 3: As many others have mentioned, the hose clamps are cheaply made. I did not understand what other reviewers meant by this until I received mine. The screws would not unscrew for removal. When wrapping the metal strip around and then trying to tuck it into the other end of the hose clamp in order to tighten it, the metal would not fit to tuck it in. I was unable to remove the screw in order to create space, and I was unable to fit the metal strip inside the space with the screw in place. I inspected it carefully, and the clamps were defective. I tried every trick in the book to remove the screws and/or to fit the end in without removing. I worked relentlessly with 4 clamps over 40 minutes, determined to make them work, and they just don't. I finally had to give up and return this product.I have instead now ordered an alternative similar product that has 3 varying height support pieces with substantial thickness for stacking. I plan to add some security by adding cable ties to them.

Who does this?
Easy to install but really, who was in charge of putting the tools in the box? It would help if you had supplied a phillips head screwdriver or at least a flathead screwdriver that would fit the head of the screw.

No use whatsoever.
The parts (clips & cylinders) did not fit together, the cylinders were too small for any office chair and the screw driver was not adjustable. The purchase was of no use whatsoever.Ferraycle (or Amazon) refunded $15.00 and I returned the product . . . postage cost $24.00.$9.00 out of pocket and a great deal of wasted time.
