Northwest Enterprises Bacon Press, Round Tempered Glass Bacon Press and Splatter Shield, Perfectly Cooked Flat Bacon Every time! (8 Inch)

I've been looking for a bacon press that could work in non-stick fry pans without scratching. You could probably make a scratch is you misused it but it works fine for me. You have to put it on the bacon when the pan is cold. The transparent glass lets you monitor the bacon as it cooks. The pan you use it with has to be large enough for it to lay flat but that is not hard to find. I like it and use it for all bacon now.

I have had these before and this one definitely meets expectations. I like that you can see the meat you are cooking and it makes it easier to know when to turn. I really like my bacon crispy but not charred and this press makes that easy to determine. Also great for toasted cheese sandwiches as you can see when the cheese is melted! I would definitely recommend.

I bought this to get better visibility than the cast iron bacon press that I have been using and it does provide a much better view to know when to turn or remove the bacon. I was skeptical of the claim that the lifting handle stays cool but it really does heat up much less than I was expecting.The glass is about 3/16" thick and that is OK and does the job but I would prefer it to be a little thicker.My only real dislike is the way the screw that attaches the handle to the glass is not countersunk into the glass. The screw head and washer stand proud of the glass surface. I usually use thick sliced bacon so this has not been an issue for me yet but if I were buying again I would make sure that screw head is flush with the glass.

Bought this as a gift for my husband. He loves his breakfast and always complained about the bacon. He said to say it is rated a 10 because it works! It’s heavy enough and he can see thru the lid. Plus it is easy to clean with out having to season it like the heavy cast iron types.

The photos and title peaks for itself. The 10 inch press works perfectly with our 10 inch pan. Cutting the bacon in halves works and fits best. I...SEE...BACON !!! con: At times the grease collects under the knob (see pic)... remove it, clean it, and reassemble it...(that's not a deal breaker for what it's worth)

The handle is secured with a round head screw from underneath (the pan side), so take extra care using this with non-stick pans if you want to keep coating intact. I ordered this so as not to use the cast iron bacon press that I have. Other than that, this is good to keep watch on bacon doneness without lifting to see. It seems to be heat-resistant enough, though I haven't purposely dunked it in water straight from the pan to test that. If you plan to use this with thin bacon or other thin foods, bear that in mind.

The bacon press came fully assembled! It is the perfect weight and size. I can watch the bacon cook. No more wavy bacon on my BLT.

I purchased this to use with a ceramic non-stick griddle. Ceramic is very easy to scratch, so absolutely no metal is allowed. This seemed like a good alternative to a traditional cast-iron press. Unfortunately there is a big metal screw on the bottom that sticks out about 1/8 of an inch. Even if you're not worried about scratching, you'd need to be careful not to set that screw on any bacon, or it won't press the rest very well.
