key to some modern philosophical thought
If you want to get to the crux of the so called "Law of Attraction". It seems like this is one of the earliest examples. It appears that any of the writers who are writing in this genre have been following the philosophy of this early piece.I don't know for sure that any modern day authors read this book, but they do seem to be similar. Maybe it is just a case of Jung's synchronicity, and the modern writers don't realize that they are writing something that is similar. If you are interested in the so called "Law of Attraction",then I would think that you might enjoy seeing the similarities of your favorite guru and these ancient writings.

A Book of Universal Truth
This book speaks of universal truths and morals. Reading what is inside and applying itself to one's inner self proves, without a doubt, that religious belief is common to all mankind in whatever form it is portrayed in. Reading the Upanishads would cause many priests and, more specifically, "preachers", to realize that these truths are self-evident for all, and might open their eyes to the fact that other nations, cultures, and peoples are also peace and truth seeking besides our own.

as it may talk to you in terms you understand better.
This translation of the ancient Hindu script is one of my favorites.I prefer the translation by Ecknath Easwaran, but this is purely personal, Easwaran's translation talks to me in simpler terms. Do not let this keep anyone from purchasing this translation, as it may talk to you in terms you understand better.

First time reading and enjoyed it
Being Hindu / Sanatana Dharmi and having no real research or understanding, I decided to get curious and wonder. I got this book to better understand my roots. I’m happy I did.I admit there are portions that went over my head.

Good Introduction
This is a good introduction to one of the holy books of the Hindu religion. The concepts are somewhat "foreign" to those who have grown up with Judeo-Christian traditions but the language used to explain and illustrate the concepts is clear and concise. For those interested in the Hindu religion, this is a good place to start.

Simple and expanded
This book has within itself simplified the understanding of the absolute. A good short read for one to understand why we exist.

A great privilege
As Schopenhauer and Thoreau so fervently put it: it is a great privilege to read these words; the words fall on me like the light of a higher and purer luminary...free from particulars, simple, universal. This book is golden. Simple and sublime. Swami Paramananda has distilled the Upanishads beautifully.Thank you Brahman, Swami, all Spiritual teachers.

Beautiful text
I haven't actually started reading the version I just ordered, but I studied it at college over 30 years ago and found it fascinating and a real insight into another, very different culture. When I saw it for 39p for Kindle I couldn't resist!
