Stansport 2 Mantle Propane Lantern, Black, Standard

Excellent quality, good price and quick delivery

This lantern worked fine for two months. Then, the metal rim that the mantle is attached to, fractured and fell off. I reported this problem to Stansport. This seems to be a problem with other brands of lanterns that I have tried, and Stansport was better than most.

Easy to set up I like the clip panels that came with the product. Very nice.

This lantern is sturdier and more heavy duty than the single mantle style (also bought recently from Amazon). There are a few additional parts on this one besides the obvious extra mantle. Good value for the money. Easy setup. A metal bracket comes with the unit and there is no mention at all in the instructions about what to do with it (goes under cap). Also, I didnt realize that the double mantle version comes with a plastic base for the propane tank to sit in. That's a nice bonus. Single mantle version did not come with a base. I do wish these lanterns would come with the mantles with metal clips instead of the old fashioned string. My fat man fingers don't do well with tying dainty short thin strings. Clips would be better. Good buy

the lantern itself works ok, I guess. you have to kind of find some way to get the match up inside the glass to light the gas. but the base is completely worthless. it does not hold the cylinder at all. its too bad to cause the flip out feet would make it very stable. in fact, that base isn't going anywhere, it just doesn't hold the cylinder at all. I thought I just had to press it in there further, but looking at it from the bottom, the cylinder is going all the way in. and nope, its not the plastic cylinder base either.
