Perfect replacement for USPS lock.
We originally bought a replacement lock locally at a big box store that was a piece of garbage and didn’t work. I googled the number on the original lock, and found this direct replacement on Amazon. It’s a perfect fit that took less than a minute to install. Considering the wasted 30 minutes of frustration with the big box store lock and another hour of online research spent as a result, the cost difference for this quality lock is more than justified. I only wish these were available locally so I didn’t have to wait for shipping.

Fits your standard mail box.
Just got a new home and wanted to change out the mailbox lock. The old one is held by a C-clip, pops right out. This one installs in seconds. Works great and comes with 3 new keys if I recall correctly.

Complete clockwise USPS mailbox lock kit
Now this is a complete USPS mailbox lock kit! I purchased a kit before this one and it did not include the locking bracket. So I returned it and ordered this, this kit includes everything you need for a total lock replacement and even includes three keys. This matced the old USPS lock perfectly. I got quotes from locksmiths that wanted to charge me between $100 to $150 to replace the lock. Fortunately I found my Postlady and ask her if she could please open up my box once I proved I was the new owner. It took me about a minute to remove the old lock and about three minutes to install the new one (videos are plentiful on YouTube). It fit perfectly and matched all of the other locks in the mailbox array which was a necessity since I'm part of a homeowners association and everything has to be within code. This kit might be a few dollars more but spend the extra money, look at the other kits on Amazon and most of them only have two keys and no locking bracket, this one has both. Highly recommended kit, you won't be sorry.

Fit Perfect
Fit perfectly to the mailbox, the only issue is that the key doesn't go out easily but I bought graphite and works better.

Works Great!
Purchased this for my mother who lost both keys to her community mailbox. The mail carrier told her that it is cheaper to purchase these locks on line than through U.S.P.S. When my mother received it, the mail carrier installed it for her. Now, that is service! The lock works great and comes with three keys. You will need to insert each key into the lock several times to 'break them in'.

Looks and works like original, except you can remove the key while unlocked.
Looks and works like original, except you can remove the key while unlocked. Even the post office would not know the difference. The three keys all worked, just a little rough the first few time inserted and removed, but smoothed out after just a few uses.. No lube or wire brushing was necessary. Very easy install and a perfect replacement. I did find that I could remove the key while the lock was unlocked and the door open. That is not how my original lock worked, but it is not a problem for me. It could be an issue if you leave your box unlocked to the neighbors. I am getting old, but I don't think I'm quite that forgetful YET! Good purchase and I would recommend to a friend, I might even install it for them if they need help.

so I used the best of the three as my main key
Two of the three keys were difficult to insert/remove from the lock, so I used the best of the three as my main key. Installation was easy but this can only be used as a replacement. The large metal piece that actually holds the door shut until you unlock the mailbox is NOT included, just the lock, keys, metal tensioner piece, and the nut to hold it in place. Installation was easy and resist the urge to use tools to make it very tight, as others have said.

So much grief trying to get access to my mailbox since I lost the keys to the old lock!
I really wished my mailman would have let me install this without having to take other measures since I lost the keys to the old lock.I read the reviews before I purchased the item and had the assumption that my mailman would let me install it when they were filling the rest of the slots in the community mailbox. Boy was I wrong, with the lock and wrench in hand I was told that I needed to get a locksmith to obtain the master key from my local post office to then open the whole front of the community box to finally take the ~13mm nut off the post to swap my lock. I was dumfounded and only could get "it's company policy" as reasoning. She is new to my route so maybe she's trying stick to the book but I really didn't want a locksmith involved for something so simple and then end up paying $100+ just in labor. I ended up buying a lock picking kit since the community box belonged to the post office and didn't want to break any laws damaging their property. I watch a few videos on YouTube that's already out there and after raking the lock for about 5 minutes I was able to open my slot section and replaced it.The install itself took maybe 2 minutes total and all the proper hardware came in the kit.
