Good Product
Working very well. Plug-and-play, no driver installation needed. Used with laptop via USB Type-C. Read CDs and DVDs smoothly without lag or noise. Build quality is decent for the price. Good option if your laptop doesn’t have an internal DVD drive.

Great CD/ DVD drive but short USB cable
CD/DVD unit worked without any issues at all. Plugs into the USB 3.0 port and runs without any issues or need for downloading any drivers to work as well. CD fits the spindle with no issues and operations are simple. Though the cord for the USB is stupidly short, it wasn't an issue considering my PC has top loaded 3.0 ports and it's flat on the top but I do see the problem with most reviews. All in all very effective and very low cost.

An Archaeologist’s Tray for Resurrecting 1999 MP3 Mixes from Plastic Purgatory
I bought this slim, jet-black external optical drive because modern laptops have ruthlessly stripped away every physical port, slot, and spinning mechanical component in pursuit of becoming razor-thin metal wafers. Apparently, the tech industry decided that shiny five-inch polycarbonate discs belong in the Smithsonian next to flint spearheads. But I have an ancient shoebox full of silver discs labeled with faded Sharpie markers that require interrogation. Plugging the dual USB 3.0/Type-C umbilical cord into my laptop and pressing that tiny, flush eject button launched me straight back to November 1999. Specifically, the beige tower PC in my parents’ wood-paneled den with an internal 4x HP CD-Writer Plus. Back then, burning an 80-minute mixtape was a high-stakes religious ritual. You had to close every browser window, mute your speakers, avoid touching your mouse, and pray nobody picked up the landline, lest a catastrophic "buffer underrun" error transform your brand-new Verbatim blank into a shiny drink coaster. When that motorized plastic tray slid out with a delicate mechanical whir, it felt like opening a sacred high-tech drawer. This Ziweo unit carries that exact same mechanical theater, minus the terrifying buffer-underrun anxiety. The spring-loaded spindle grabs the center hole of the disc with that crisp, sharp snap that modern touchscreens will never replicate. As soon as the laser engages, the drive spins up with that familiar, miniature jet-engine turbine hum—a steady vibrational reminder that physical kinetic energy is reading actual light off physical grooves. It read my twenty-five-year-old burned CD-R full of low-bitrate Limp Bizkit and Smash Mouth tracks without a single stutter, error, or skipping hiccup. The integrated cord tucked into the underside groove means you won't lose the wire in your desk drawer abyss, and having both standard USB-A and modern Type-C on the same tether makes it immune to modern dongle extortion. Rating: 4.8 out of 5 stars. Plug-and-play simplicity, zero external power bricks required, and grants instant access to your dusty, physical media time capsules.

Awesome product
I recently purchased the External DVD Drive USB 3.0 Type-C CD Burner Portable CD +/-RW Drive DVD Player for ROM, and I couldn't be more pleased with its performance. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by its sleek and compact design. It’s lightweight and portable, making it incredibly easy to carry around and perfect for on-the-go use. The dual interface (USB 3.0 and Type-C) is a huge plus, as it offers flexibility and compatibility with both older and newer devices. Setting it up was a breeze—just plug it in, and it’s ready to go. No need for additional drivers or software installations, which is a big time-saver. Performance-wise, this DVD drive is top-notch. It reads and writes CDs and DVDs quickly and efficiently, with no hiccups or delays. I’ve used it to play DVDs, burn CDs, and even install software from discs, and it has handled everything flawlessly. The USB 3.0 connection ensures fast data transfer, which is noticeable when copying large files. Overall, this is an excellent external DVD drive that delivers on all fronts—performance, design, and ease of use. If you’re in need of a reliable and versatile external DVD drive, I highly recommend this one. It’s worth every penny and definitely deserves a 5-star rating!
