No flavor and soupy
The roe is mushy, has no âpopâ, and overall contains little flavor. I wasnât expecting a gourmet product, as it isnât very expensive, but it also isnât super cheap. Would never buy again and wrote a review just to guide others to not waste their hard earned money.

Delightful
Had a wonderful feel on my tongue. Crisp and tasty. So good I ate the whole three and a half ounces in one afternoon.

Not Salty, Not Much Flavor, Pretty Inert
It's been a long time since I've had caviar so decided to give this a try. It was paired with "34 Degrees Crisps" that are basically flavorless cracker things so as to let the flavor of the caviar come through. We had the caviar and crackers before a Thai dinner and this was the first thing consumed that night. They have a little bit of a soft rubbery texture. They aren't chewy but don't melt in your mouth either. They are obviously salted but the salt flavor is very minimal. I'd call the whole combination pretty inert, just not a lot of flavor at all. One cracker with caviar was enough for the other two people who sampled the caviar before dinner.Nobody including me was a big fan of it but nobody hated it either. We all though it was pleasant but not anything we really like and wanted to eat more of.This isn't something I would buy again. It just didn't seem to have much of a taste to it. It seemed fresh. There was nothing wrong with it or bad about it, it just wasn't very good.

Bit runny and fishy
The overall quality for my liking is so so. This caviar seems to be a bit watery and runny. There is too much liquid in the jar, so it made my cracker and bread soggy. I have had different kinds of caviar that are not from mullet, and the caviar had a firm and consistent texture. I know it is not fair to compare to different kinds of roe, but I like the firm and consistent texture. Also, this one from Poseidon has a bit more fishy taste than other caviars. I usually enjoy raw roes on crackers or bread (sometimes over bowl of rice with butter and soy sauce too!), and this one seemed to be have a more fishy taste. Nonetheless, once paired with a fresh slice of bread with appropriate cheese, it makes a good snack/finger food. As for the price, $23 for 3.5 oz jar is not too bad.

Not tasty.
Does not taste like real fish roe. It overall has a very gross flavor & texture. Not similar to fish roe in the slightest. Do not purchase unless youâve tried it before & know you like artificial roe.

High- quality product
I really enjoyed Caviar Pearls of Bottarga. It has an excellent flavor that goes very well with crackers and wine. Based on its texture you can tell that it is a very high-quality product. I would recommend Poseidon- Caviar Pearls of Bottarga to anyone who is looking for a good- quality alternative of seafood.

Came in a broken jar
I canât tell you how this product tastes because it came in a broken jar and is apparently ineligible for return for some reason so I just paid for broken glass that smells like fish. Zero stars
