Great quality, fast shipping and a generally pleasant experience!
My two grams arrived yesterday, well packed from the company. The UPS guy was kind enough to flop the package where a rain spout was splashing all over it, but everything inside was nice and dry.The tin looks like it'll be a reasonable container to keep the stuff fresh. It's going to keep it away from light, at the very least. The top of the tin unscrews, instead of clips on. While that may not seem like much, having a container where the lid snaps on and off can make it really easy to drop threads when opening.Inside the tin is the good stuff. What I got was only incredible!Of course there was a little dust in the bottom, but it wasn't much. The threads themselves were nice and pungent, with very little variation in color.I pulled three of the threads out and put them in a little water and let them sit for a while to see what happened. The water remained nice and clear, but turned the yellow-amber-whatever color that you'd expect and there was no cloudiness, even after around 10 minutes. No little parts of unidentifiable plant matter, or strange clear things floating in there like grocery store, so as far as I can tell, this is great quality stuff and I have no buyer's remorse.I sipped the water, just to see and sure enough, it tasted like water that'd been sitting in summer garden hose, just like you'd expect saffron to taste.I don't think you can go wrong buying here!

Don't be afraid of the lack of reviews.
There were next to no yellow strands. I found just one. The aroma is excellent both from the tin and once steeped in water. After steeping for ten minutes the strands were still dark red. I took a gamble going with an item with no reviews. But this is some quality stuff. I highly recommend it.

Aroma and taste
This is not saffron,no aroma, dried ,no taste .Turns water red immediately suggesting dyes used.Trust me I know saffron,I am indian and know the taste ,consistency and above all aroma. This is the most expensive cooking item in all the country!Go to your local Indian grocery store for some. The price is also a giveaway, real saffron is very expensive,go to your local indian grocery store for the real thing.

The Real Deal
First of all, my wife and I have been cooking rice with saffron for decades , and we have determined that this is very high quality saffron. Secondly, compared to retail stores, it costs less than half of what we've paid for the same quantity. Thirdly, the metal storage tin keeps it fresh and very accessible, making it far easier to grab a "pinch" and add to rice. A little goes a long way. We will order again.

Looks good and tastes good.
I purchased this product for its medicinal purposes for my eyes. I hope that it will keep my eyes clear till the end of my days without the need for eye surgery of any kind.I am not an expert as to quality but it looks good and it tastes good. I eat a little bit straight from the can every day.

Excellent product at an extrodonary price
VERY nice aromatic and wonderful product at an excellent price. Thank you.(For some reason, probably just to be annoying, I keep getting one email after another to review this purchase again and again. I wish it would stop now. I do very much recommend this saffron, but I won't if this continues to annoy.)

Aid for ageing eyes
I haven't use much of this yet for foods or cooking. I just make tea with about 2cups of purified water, ten strands of saffron and some white peony tea leaves, sometimes w/o the peony. I noticed the strands are fully dissipated upon infusion in a stainless steel thermal mug and that's what I want. Before doing tea I would put strands under my tongue and let them dissolve. Taste isn't bad, maybe a sight bit bitter so I add a few grains of stevia to not sweaten, but just to neuralize.I take it for my eye health and eye comfort. Helps my tired eyes late night eyeing new stuff on Amazon...I bought two 5gram tins, will buy more when I'm running low especially if price stays the same. Golden Saffron seems to be the deal to beat!

Fragrant Saffron
I'm a little tardy with the review only because I wanted to try the saffron in a variety of receipes. Upon opening the tin I was greeted with uniformly red plump threads that are fragrant that have consistly bloomed. I am highly satisfied with the way this product has performed flavoring and lending the characteristic golden hue to my dishes. A few threads in my chicken soup or stew and they are taken from ordinary to special.
