Ths has now made a permanent spot in my knife collection. Out of the box I'm slicing paper thin tomatoes. The weight and balance of this cleaver is just amazing, it feels like it belongs in my hand. I do think it's my new favorite knife.

Awesome cleaver. I have a Joyce Chen cleaver and its at its end of life. Ordered this as a replacement and I was not disappointing. Beautiful design, excellent handling and razor sharp. Great product with no complaints.UpdateReduced to 1 star Originally was very impressed. This knife has it own special place as it never is out of the box it came in except to use. Immediately after using is is was washed in warm water thoroughly dried and put back in its original box, never used to cut bone or abused. Now after 3-4 months using about 3-5 times a week its starting to pit and rust. Very disappointing, the picture I uploaded is blurry but you get the idea.

I purchased this cleaver because the price and the reviews were both excellent. It arrived this afternoon and I immediately used it to prep six pounds of large carrots for roasting. The cleaver was easy to use and the substantial (in a good way) weight made it easy to cut through 1+ diameter carrots. Can’t wait to use it on squash, cauliflower, broccoli stems, onions. The only thing that would make it better is a more substantial blade cover, although I am glad that a cover, of sorts, was provided.

I like the CPK cleaver very much. The weight is good. I honed the blade to sharpen it a bit more. Size is good. washes well in the dish washerwith no spots or marks on it. The back edge crushes garlic fer well. I would like the badk of the handle to round as some cleavers to mincespices as in a mortar. Very nice item.

This cleaver is extremely easy to use on cutting vegetables (as well as meat). Since it has a flat blade, veggies are always cut all the way through. I'm used to using a chef's knife to cut veggies, and if your not careful, a chef's knife leaves a little of the veggie uncut due to the slight rounding of the cutting edge. Not so with this cleaver. It's very comfortable to hold and use. Only improvement - a better sleeve for protecting the blade.

This is exactly what I wanted. I have been trying it several days for various cutting chores. It's an attractive knife, very sharp and for me, my favorite use for it is mincing.....the weight is just right in my hand, and so much quicker for cutting up veggies like onions, tomatoes, parsley, cilantro, etc. It has already become one of my favorite and most used knives.

I purchased it thinking I would use it until it breaks or rust and I would then upgrade to a more brand name companies. Wow, I don’t think I will need to upgrade. It cuts very well. I thought the handle was too small, wrong again it fits well in my hand. Bottom line I like it a lot. In this age of things being made in a half a$$ way, this guy made something worth keeping. I would purchase more from the knife maker.

Arrived quickly, packaged properly. I purchased in addition an edge guard sheath to protect the blade and fingers when it's not being used. There handle fits comfortably in my hand as I chop. Very sturdy but not too heavy in my hand.
