Easy to use and care for. Delicious coffee
-Easy and intuitive to use-Easy to disassemble and reassemble for cleaning. Being able to close the valve makes trips to dump the used filter a drip-free mess-Lightweight and mostly durable. The little switch to close/open the valve seems to be made of a thinner plastic, though, so be careful with that particular part.-Our favorite brewing method is to let the grounds soak with the valve closed for ~2m before letting it drip. It's a very quick and easy method-One "fill" of the 03 size makes a large mug of coffee.

Pour Over Game Changer!
If you're a V60 user, this will be a familiar product. The ability to do immersion and percolation brewing all in one is a super cool and convenient feature. I did not think that this was necessary for a pour over, but it really does change the tasting experience of your coffee. To me, it combines the best of an aeropress and traditional pour over in one handy device. It can also be used as a traditional V60 without using the switch feature. This device really allows for the end-user to tweak their brew via endless methodologies. If you want to get the most out of your coffee experience and like adjusting flavor experiences, this is the device to use. Highly recommend adding this to your brewing arsenal. If this is your potential first brewer, you cant go wrong with the ability to use it in so many different ways.

products updates the company fixed
I love this. its simple but really effective. unlike bonivitas porcelain one this one has a solid switch system that doesn't have needless joints and weak points. it gets hot but you're supposed ot be moving it by holding the silicone neck at the base. THE BALL DOES NOT FALL OUT. I read a review that the ball falls out so be careful and it made me think twice about buying this before going ahead as its just about the only option these days. They added small silicone ridges in the opening that prevent the ball from falling out if its flipped over. it may come out if its formally shaken and tapped from the bottom. Thats general not normal for cleaning or using this so you should be safe. the taste of the coffee is as expected and I am quite pleased with this replacement to my old broken bonivita or the endless burst filter form doing immersion by putting the filter in the mug and folding the top over the edge to hold it. I recommend giving this a shot if you like the immersion dripper style. its attractive and works great. I cannot speak to cleaning just yet but the bonivita was foul and needed a screw driver to dismantle and clean this cannot be worse than that as its 4 parts total including the ball and leaver. I got the 03 and I would say just buy that and give your self the option to make a larger cup even if its not your normal. The 03 still makes just a few ounces less than bonivita but pouring a little extra water in as it empties into your mug is not a big deal.if any note is to be made its make the flange that rests on the cup lidd a little wider for larger cups but it works for all the ones ive tried so far only being somewhat questionable on the largest.

Great device, definitely worth it.
Being new to pour overs the switch was a great place to start as it's very forgiving. Allows you to practice your pours and such. It lets you do submersion style brewing or pour over. 2-in-1, I love it, my coffee game has definitelty improved because of this gem.As for build quality it feels solid. Does not feel cheap at all. The switch itself takes a light touch but hold up well. Just get it!!!

One of the most versatile coffee brewers made
The media could not be loaded. I have virtually every coffee brewer made and, without doubt, the Hario Switch is my go to and for me it is the most versatile of all of my brewers. It brews great as a standalone pour over brewer (none better) and also is a great standalone immersion brewer. Again, for me, none better. The best versatility of it is as a mix brewer - getting the best of both worlds as I showed in the video - the first 40% of the brew as a pour over (extracts sweetness and acidity) and the other 60% as an immersion (extracting boldness and strength and still sweetness). I recommend the larger brewer (03). The small unit is simply too small and not nearly as versatile as the larger brewer. Another real beauty of it is by controlling the pour over / immersion ratio, you can vary the flavor with every cup you brew. Also, you can obviously increase the volume of coffee you brew by adjusting the ratio of the pour over / immersion ratio. To increase volume, I never brew concentrated and then dilute as some recommend. Flavor is definitely lost doing this. It is much easier to clean than some other standalone immersion brewers and with the paper filter (I use the V60 filter) you filter out the potential cardiotoxic oils and grounds that are left in your coffee with some of them.
