Thoughtfully designed with a thick metal grip
I use this pencil for illustration and rough sketching. This is a well balanced pencil with lots of good knurling. Finding a 0.5 pencil with a thick metal knurled grip is not easy. Most of the pencils with good metal knurled grips like the Rotring or Alvins are too thin.I have much more control with this and it’s a pleasure to hold. Since I’m constantly rotating the pencil to keep the lead from getting flat, I removed the clip so it doesn’t hit my thumb. There’s a rubber band between the metal and plastic that has a little nub that prevents it from rolling. The back of the pencil tapers to the same diameter as a standard wood pencil. If you take the clip off, the back will fit into pencil holder holes designed for No.2 or any regular drawing pencils.

Best pencil ever!
I love this pencil. It is by far the best pencil I have ever used. They’re very smooth pencils. I use them to take notes in school. The only bad thing is they have a small eraser, but that’s why I bought a separate one. Even with the eraser thing ,I still give them a 5 Star.

Only one complaint
I wish it was a bit thicker. Other than that, no complaints. Feels good to use, materials seem good.

Great but a little pricey
Nice and tactile feel... I use it for all of my drafting work. Bit pricey considering that it's only a pencil, but great product nonetheless.

Pilot S10
When the product first arrived it came in a nice looking package. The pencil has a good center of balance towards the end of the metal grip. The grip was comfortable and felt nice to the touch. Writing was pretty smooth.

eraser got stuck up inside the cap :-(
I bought this Pilot mechanical pencil because my Pentel had some lead stuck in it and the Pilot had a small pin for clearing stuck lead. But the Pilot felt better in my hand and so it became my pencil of choice. But when I went to adjust the eraser, I hard a very hard time prying the metal clip apart a little, to slide the eraser up, and a hard time squeezing it back together perfectly round again, so that it would fit back into the plastic tube inside the pencil. (Never had that problem with the Pentel eraser.) I finally got the eraser back into the plastic tube and put the cap back on. But when I went to use the eraser again, it was stuck up inside the cap. :-( So now I have to figure out how to get it out without damaging the cap, and decide whether I want to buy some Pilot erasers.
