Please read! AMAZING! Use Vegetable oil to free them for HUMANE!
I would have never ever bought these, but it was getting out of control. We have a 1920 house that is next to a field... and about a doezen RATS, (squirrel sized) over the past few months getting caught in the traditional traps, but the latest few generations were avoiding our traps and destroying our house - eating all the appliance water lines and causing leaks, tearing out insulation from everything, a horrible smell.Anyway, enough was enough, let's try these... within 15 minutes of the garage going quiet I heard some plastic shuffling... 100% success rate!! TWO RATS! I googled "rat in glue trap, now what?" and found an ehow article, just put the rats in a plastic box (buy one before hand!) and get some vegetable oil (again, get it beforehand!) and pour some on them - just like a couple tablespoons. Wait a few minutes, and then REJOICE! You don't have to hit them with a brick!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH CATCHMASTER!!!If you want the humane option:Here is your new shopping listhttp://www.amazon.com/Sterilite-16428012-6-qt-Storage-white/dp/B000OPT8TK/ref=sr_1_4?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1368432891&sr=1-4&keywords=plastic+storage+containershttp://www.amazon.com/Wells-Lamont-167L-14-Inch-Gauntlet/dp/B000BZ8K4M/ref=sr_1_2?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1368432918&sr=1-2&keywords=rubber+glovesVegetable oilAlso - for the other reviewers about the strength of these traps, I think they are designed to allow you to free them so it's not like they are concrete super glue, I believe that the giant rat would have freed itself if I wasn't nearby, perhaps plan on waiting a little bit in a dark room the first few nights just to be sure? Also - place them against the wall not the middle of the room.WOW! Edit 3: Just caught another one! This is three withing like 30 min of eachother.Edit 4: I'm running out of exclamatory remarks... I bought 4 of these stations in my first batch, caught the three mentioned above immediately. The next morning, I checked the last trap that I had just put down as a "eh" sort of thing... TWO MORE RATS this morning... on one trap! These traps must be imbued with the Holy Scent of the Rat God or something, as now my 4 traps are 125% efficient!WARNING: The little things squeak like mad when they are caught. Don't worry too bad, they aren't in pain yet - I mean you could just kill them or do the vege oil as described above. This last one had his whole head stuck in it, but I just swooshed the oil around while they were in the container and then kinda grabbed him a bit with the gloves to give him some help getting loose. Anyway, that was the small one, the big one was insane on this thing. Anyway - all released a few miles from my house in a field.

Highly recommend for catching snakes
This product works better than I expected in trapping snakes. I was very skeptical on how strong the glue would stick to the snake, but it worked very well. I expected the snake to slither away with the trap, but absolutely not the case. My wife and kids repeatedly saw a snake in the yard, but they never saw it when I was around. I decided to try this glue trap to catch the snake. I set two glue traps in two areas where the snake was last seen. I did not use any attractant, bait or food. I built a small wood box and placed the box on top of the glue trap which was placed in between a couple small plants. I did not secure the trap to the ground. I just placed the trap on top of the rocks in our flower bed. The box prevented leaves, rain and debris from getting stuck on the glue and created a secluded place for the snake to enter. After four weeks of waiting, I caught two snakes in the same trap! The snakes were still alive when I found them. I assume if you wait long enough, the snakes will run out of food and water. Just be prepared to take action as you open uncover the box. I recommend a long handled flat shovel to remove the box and finish the snake. See the enclosed pictures. I would highly recommend this product. You cannot reuse the trap after the snakes have been trapped. Just dispose of the trap with the snakes intact. Be patient and good luck!

didnt work for rats but worked for the babies
Purchased to deal with a rat problem. I laid the 2 traps in the basement in the area of the rat traffic. The rats did not go on it, they moved it around from one side of the basement to the other but none got caught, just a lot of crickets who landed on it and got stuck. I placed some sunflower seeds on it which our rats just love. They must have been suspicious and never even dared to step foot onto this. I wish this worked but i had to try other traps for my rats.UPDATE: I just went down to the basement and found.... YUCK!!.. 6 BABY RATS; 3 stuck to each of these traps, so they did work but only for the babies! I am ordering more of these just in case there are more.

JUST got it and it already worked!
I was horrified to see a mouse scurrying across our garage last week, envisioning the little critter moving into the house and inviting all his friends.I ordered a 2-pack of this glue trap and put them next to different walls in the garage last night. This morning, not hearing any squeaking, I assumed there had been no action... but I just about jumped when I checked the first trap and saw a little brown mouse staring up at me with black beady eyes!My husband did the humane thing and put him swiftly out of his misery... after I got over the 0.5 second of feeling sorry for the mouse, I breathed a sigh of relief that my house is safe from rodents destroying our belongings. We had a rat visitor on our covered deck a few years ago, and I wish I'd known about these glue traps then (although then my Standard Poodles would've missed out on the fun of trying to chase down a rat).Update from 7/16/2013: We ended up buying several more packs of these glue traps. Over the course of about a week, these traps ended up catching FOUR mice. One also caught a small snake, and unfortunately a lizard, which we freed using some vegetable oil on the trap. Please make sure you check these traps daily so that no little critters are left to starve to death... either release them or kill them humanely. Either way, these traps are fantastically effective and we plan to buy these again should we ever need to.

Works how it should!
Some reviewers saying it doesn’t work. Out of all the glue traps this is the only one that works for me. Make sure you’re not letting a lot of dust go on these things because it will just become a layer they can walk on top of. When using this it caught not just one, but multiple mice on each of them. It definitely it works, it gets them to go to it, and once they’re in it, there’s no way they getting out that glue. It’s weird to see some people saying they got out. Perhaps they didn’t have their whole body inside, wouldn’t know. But from what I seen, once they are in it, they are not coming out, now way, they’ll just stick to it even more as they move. And for those saying it trapped a bird instead... what did you expect if it’s outside? It’s not like it has an animal detector in it to prevent some animals from going to it.
