Just what I needed, fit perfectly

I have a prestro pressure canner for years and actually never had to change the seal until recently when I noticed the seal's looseness and steam venting out of sides of the pressure lid . I thought I would have to go to the company to get a replacement seal due to the age of the canner ,but I thought I would check Amazon first and they have it so I ordered one but was hoping it was right. Well I got it and switched the seals and plug and wow they both fit perfectly and the lid is hard to tighten into place like it was new ,I reordered another one since we have hard water and that causes the rubber seals to weaken was faster than normally. Besides I'm pressure canning more these days so I want to make sure my equipment is ready

Worked great

Well, I purchased this set as I wanted backups for our 2 Presto pressure canners. I noticed right away that they were a little (maybe .35-.5") to small. I returned them...well, I returned the original one in the set of 2. I decided to try it. The first time using it, a little water dripped for about 7 minutes, from the seal. Then stopped and the remainder of the canning time went well. All sealed. I have used it several times and now, no water dripping, seals, pressure good and jars sealed. I guess the slight difference did not hurt. I thought it would but was pleased to find out, it works.

I haven’t needed to use them yet

I use my canner a lot and chose to replace the seal before it wore out. These were a perfect fit and sealed well. Now I have an extra one as well. I do remove it and lightly apply vegetable oil when storing to prevent cracking.

Bought this to replace the worn out seal on one of my wife's canners. It was easy to install and does the job, just as we expected. Wetting the seal before installing it may make the process easier, but it was not had to install. Would buy again if ever needed.

Great product and fits great. If you buy this as a spare part for use down the track, Vacuum seal it, lasts longer.

I have presto pressure canner 0178107. The first time I used the pressure ring it worked fine. When I tried to put the lid on the canner for a second batch the pressure ring fell right off the lid. I measured it against an unused pressure ring and found it had shrunk a good half inch and no longer fit.

I initially leaned towards giving this product only 2 stars. I have been frequently using my 23 qt and 16 qt Presto canners for the last five years and have already replaced both rings in the past. With this brand I struggled to lock and unlock the lids on the first attempt. No amount of pressure applied on the top of the lid helped. I eventually greased the rings with a little bit of olive oil and managed to lock them in. I left the lids in locked position overnight, hoping that the resistance will ease in the morning. Next day I had difficulty unlocking the lids. I have strong grip, so I eventually succeeded. But the handle screws on both canners had to be tightened. After using the pots, one of the lids is easier to screw and unscrew. Second lid is still representing a bit of challenge. I measured the diameters and weight of new rings. The measurements match old rings. It seems to me that something in the manufacturing process is not quite right.
