Excellent kit for kids who are interested in science
I bought for my son 11 years, he enjoy science experiments and this one is good fit for him , plus it has vr and app support.I would like them to improve more on app side with more videos and explanations.

The good, the bad and the ugly....
Let me start with the positives. The virtual reality is awesome! Your kids will get to see the planets in orbit, walk on the moon and go on several other cool adventures. Now for the negatives. If you are teaching a unit on space, you will need to do way more lesson planning than what this kit provides in terms of information. You can supplement with your own videos and expand on the information through other projects and explanation. Now let's talk about the experiments. This is by far the greatest shortcoming. For instance, a really cool kit is provided to paint the planets and the sun, telling you to paint them as shown in the book. The problem is that the paints provided are not all of the colors needed. In fact, you cant even mix the colors they give you to get most of the colors needed. Luckily we had other paint on hand. The experiment creating the geodesic dome lacks explanation and the pictures in the book actually show the opposite colors of the ones they gave us for the pipe cleaners, which makes it very difficult to follow. They also change the language. They call the parts straws and then switch to struts. Just call them one thing. It's very hard to follow. Needless to say, we quit making the dome from pure frustration. Would I make the purchase again? Yes, only because I already had my lessons planned with videos and explanations needed. I can also supplement with other projects. I am using the virtual reality to provide something I couldn't otherwise provide. Also, some of the experiments are really cool. A few adjustments and this kit could be a really quality kit.

Goggles extremely uncomfortable
So my son got to open 1 gift today, he picked thie VR universe. The only portion with keeping is the book. Only reason this even got 2 stars. Good quality and probably has good content. Doubt we'll ever open it again though since we have tons books on the solar system. The painting is about what you'd expect. Limited colors (no black or white?) , brush too big The goggles are GARBAGE!! I know, $50 for the kit and you get what you pay for. To say the goggles are uncomfortable would be a gross understatement. There is ZERO cushioning for the bridge of your nose making them painful to wear. You have to hold them off your face and that gets old fast. My son ( 9 years ) loves anything planets related. To see him not want to use this, since the goggles are too unusable, says it all for me. And a bummer for what we thought he'd be the most excited for on Christmas.

Amazing!!!
We bought this for our 11-year-old who is extremely interested in astronomy. The VR and AR effects were amazing! She actually felt like she was floating in space and flying in a space ship! The graphics in the book literally jump off the pages. She will have so much fun while learning from the projects in the book. This was an awesome gift. So happy we found it!
