Pass & Seymour 735CC10 Single Pole Surface Switch, 10-Amp, Brown

I've used a pair of these at our low-voltage, off-grid cabin - one for a LED light and another to control the main relay that turns on and off cabin power - both are 12 volt DC applications with tiny loads (< 1/3 amp). They are a good quality switch for any location where you can't mount a standard recessed electrical box. The switch has a stiff and solid throw and you can bring the wires in from the back so as to be invisible. My rating is reflective of the meaning - I can't say I "love" this switch but it certainly is of good quality and I'm quite satisfied. To get a 5 star rating they might consider updating the style from circa 1955.

I like the old-style switch for certain applications. The noise of the switch does not bother me as I intended it's use as an old style, but if a person wants something like this for appearance but wants the silence of a new wall switch, this is not your switch. Works well, easy installation, at least for me as an electrician.

Worked well in my 12v LED light install in a closet. Very positive switching action!You do have to snip out the wire entry if using this for surface mounted wiring. And make sure you score with a knife around the opening you want to use, otherwise it snaps away a big chunk of the plastic. I did not do this but its not a big deal since its just a closet.

I have a 1950’s era wheel grinder that wasn’t working due to a bad switch. This switch matched the 1950’s era switch almost exactly. The tool is now working and still has the vintage look to it.

Not the item pictured...has 2 mounting screws inexplicably removed from the ad picture. Also very brittle old school plastic. Great care must be taken when knocking out the wire notch.

This kind of switch has been around for decades and has not changed. We have been using these switches for a long time and this one from Amazon is no different than what we have been using. Very good switch for the specific application and the seller was good in all aspects.
