My 5 year old has a 22 inch waist, what size should I go with?

My child has a 28 inch waist and we settled on the large. The medium would just barely reach around so I would go with the medium.

How long is XL size from base of buckle to end? (The leather part.)

This belt is awful. The way it is designed, the metal part easily breaks off of leather. Beware.
