The Beatles White Album and the Launch of Apple (The Beatles Album)

Bought this for my partners birthday and he played it and loved it I would get him more. My friend said it was great to listen to. Would buy it again.

Bought as an upgrade from my 1968 record and my mono cd tape to play on my Bose. Absolutely brilliant!!!!!!!

I have enjoyed all of Bruce Spizer's Beatles related books, but this latest offering is a huge disappointment. It mainly regurgitates the white album stuff from his best book (IMO) "Beatles for sale" but on cheaper paper!Also in his haste to release the book on the same at the same time as the release of the album's 50th anniversary editions he finds himself with a brand new book that is dated the day it comes out as it does not include all the great musical treats found on the six disc deluxe set. No doubt in a year or two we will see a new addition with this oversight remedied, with a higher price tag of course

Very accurate account of their music from 1968 focusing on the individual tracks and who contributed what to each song. Book also includes background stories and social events that surrounded the Beatles lives at this period of their career. Compares well with other books that recount recording details such as The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions, Revolution in the Head even The Beatles On Track. Avoid the book Shout for song recording details as it is very Inaccurate ie claims Paul only added drums at a later date to Ballad of J & Y though the song was recorded during one session where Paul contributed vocals, piano,bass and drums - this is typical of the inaccuracies when the author sways into song recording details and there are numerous examples included in Shout..
