What size tree would this fill heavily?

The tinsel should cover two 5 ft trees but it depends on how much you add each .  I start trimming with using 3-5 pieces of tinsel.  I tdyslly buy 2-3 boxes at s time so I have enough for the next year or two.

No - they are plastic or Mylar - I use them every year-its not a finished tree without tinsel!

is this the old style tin tinsel?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!  I bought 3 packages, and it's the modern plastic kind. I tried to put it on the tree, and didn't get more than 12 strands on tree before I threw it out!!!  The old tinsel had metal in it; originally lead, and later tin. I'm looking for the old fashioned type with tin, too. Someone said it's still available from Germany. In the 1970s the US banned it due to children and pets eating it.
